Chris Ridge

Chris Ridge is the last place to send your family. Please for the love of God and family don't send them there. My brother was there several times and I thought he was getting the care he needed. I had complained before about not bathing him, shaving him and most important not brushing his teeth. I even put notices on the door of the closet and it did not work. They did shave him brush his teeth like I asked them to do every day.. They have no entertainment for them so they leave the in bed all day and night. The food is cold by the time 1 girl has to feed three people. I put milk in his cup one day and the next day when I got there it looked like milkey water. When I showed it to the nurse he did not even say sorry. I asked him if would drink this and he say no. . Not to mention they lost his clothes, socks and shoes. I am filing a complaint with APS(adult protective services) and the health dept. Do not if you love your family send them there. The nurses do not care. The helpers do but there is nothing they can do. more

Moved out about a month ago, one year was all I could take. Chris Ridge had a smell in the halls (all inside) like a dirty bathroom, I always wondered about the kitchen.\r \r Management was more about fun and games, than anything that mattered, no real staff at the wheel of this ship. Most requests for maintenance were ignored, even when an overflowing toilet on the third floor made it all the way to the first. It took days to get things cleaned, with most of it being done by residents, not by paid staff.\r \r There were many promises before I moved in, they all became lies after a few weeks. Even things in writing, they were changed by new rules.\r \r In the end, most that stay there get used to filth, bad smells and a lower class of life. I moved to Brookdale, pay a little less than before, and have a nice clean place to stay. more

In fairness to CRV I wanted to amend the poor review I gave CRV a few months ago. The main culprit of the communication issues is no longer employed at CRV, and even though my parents no longer live there I have heard through a couple of the caregivers that they are very impressed with the person who replaced him. So hopefully the situation is better now because other than the problems I had with poor communication from administration, CRV is a nice place. My parents have lived in CRV assisted living for almost 2 years and I am currently in the process of finding them a different place to move. The ""care coordinator"" of the assisted living residents does not answer emails or return phone calls, and totally ignores family members. I have been trying for over 2 months to schedule an appointment for my parents care planning (case conference) which was due 3 months ago, and our emails and phone calls to both the administrator and the care coordinator in regard to this have been totally ignored. And when you go onsite looking for them you can't find them. The only thing good about CRV is that the caregivers on the floor who interact with my parents every day are very caring and kind girls.
