The Chopstick has been a venerable central Stockton neighborhood standby for at least 30 years. Located in a tiny strip mall near the busy intersection of Harding Way and El Dorado Street, this small take-out and delivery spot has good Cantonese standards at a fair price.
The sliced Char Siu (BBQ) pork, Sugar Peas and Beef, Foil Wrapped Chicken, and just slightly greasy Fried Prawns are all recommended. The house chow mein is adequate, with pan fried noodles, though could use a bit more variety in the veggies included.
The Crab Puffs and various fried rices are decent though the tasty BBQ Spare Ribs aren't the meatiest. My favorite dish here? The pedestrian-sounding Scrambled Eggs, Garden Peas and Pork is actually slivered Char Siu pork, carmelized onion wedges, diagonally sliced pieces of still crunchy, sweet pea pods, a few shreds of mung bean sprouts and bits of scrambled egg with a bit of soy sauce.
