Try to steal me, good food but not great 10/11/2008

I have been there 2 times. The food was good for the price even if the cook differs a little bit from other steakhouses. They give you a guideline for the cook that you have to choose if you don't want any surpriseS.\r HOWEVER,I HAD A BAD SURPRISE SEEING THAT THEY ADDED ITEMS ON MY CHECK.\r The waiter did not even excuse himself for the error and on top of that was not even surprised. I strongly believe HE KNEW THE ERROR.\r HE SIMPLY DID IT ON PURPOSE.\r I won't never return there as the food is good but not great and they cheat on us thinking we are not checking the bill.\r more

Satisfy your taste buds with great food 2/28/2008

For once we can say ""You get what you pay for"". Twice we been here and twice the food has been cooked to perfection. The lobster (taken out of the shell by request) was outstanding. I must say that for $150.00, we have had one of the best meals (with drinks) ever. The service rates high and are ready to answer all questions or requests. Yes, a bit ""pricey"", but well worth the money if you care to have a great ""special"" occasion. Ask what the appetizer, main course or dessert consists of before ordering so that there are no surprises when brought to your table. We will definitely be back for more! more

Melt in your mouth GREAT! 7/21/2007

I can't say enough about Chophouse 47. My husband and I were looking for a local restaurant to celebrate getting settled here in Greenville and we wanted steak. I had seen Chophouse from the highway and when I asked, people even 1 vegetarian said ""That's the place to go."" They were right. We started with shrimp cocktail and the shrimp were huge and tender. We each had the fillet for dinner and it was seared beautifully and crisp on the outside and cooked perfectly on the inside. The waiter helped me order it how I like it since every chef is different. We finished the evening with their decadent chocolate cake and a couple glasses of port (I highly recommend the combination). The service was fantastic and we can't wait to return together. my husband has been fortunate enough to go on business and said that it just gets better. more

Great Food but TERRIBLE service! 2/15/2007

I have to give the Chop House 47 a huge10 on the food. The Oysters Rockefeller and Filet are the BEST I've ever had. My fiance and I have been to many of ""the best"" restaurants throughout the states and Chop House 47 by far has the best food. However the service was TERRIBLE! Very rude and snooty! We had never treated like that ANYWHERE before especially when spending over $150.00 on our dinner. It ruined our opinion overall and made us very uncomfortable! Best steak in South Carolina. Try the bone-in ribeye steak and you'll never go to the other steakhouses . Service is great and ambience is confortable. None better. more

Perfect! 7/28/2005

A good friend took me to Chophouse for my birthday and it was out of this world! Fabulous wine and the steak was better than I had ever had! Outstanding attention from the waitstaff made it even more enjoyable. Pros: service, quality, ambience more
