Excellent, authentic Korean food - the waitresses treat you like family 11/9/2007

We love Cho Dang Tofu House and are sure to stop in for at least two meals each time we are in Atlanta. (We even take home a couple containers of kimchee!) The atmosphere is very casual. The waitresses are all very sweet and accommodating, and treat you like family. Our favorite dishes include the pork and tofu soup, clam and tofu soup, oyster bosum (for 2), and the dol sot bebimbop (like the soups, served in a hot rock bowl). All of the panchan have been excellent and they bring a great variety -- often six or nine of these little side dishes, depending on how many people are in your party. The prices are very reasonable - the three of us can eat a bunch and get kimchee to go for less than $30, including giving them a generous tip. Pros: service, food more

Amazing BBQ!! 10/18/2006

Last year some Singaporian friends ""dragged"" me to my first Korean Tofu house. Now, I've been back at least once a month (sometimes more than once) since then. I love the Tofu soup and the BBQ is amazing. The best thing is that you get lots of little food dishes to go with your order. Honestly, I'm not familiar enough with Korean food to know what the veggie dishes are, but it's so good that I don't care! The staff is friendly and they remember me every time I return. Plus, the amount of food you get for the price makes the trip from Buckhead worthwhile for me! more

my personal favorite but people will disagree... 6/22/2006

there are a few major ""soon doo boo"" restaurants that are worth noting: 88 tofu house, So Gong Dong tofu, Book Chang Dong tofu (in duluth) and Cho Dang. 88 is 24 hours, but their service and prices are horrible so go there only if you MUST have soon doo boo at 3 in the morning. the remaining 3 restaurants are very close in taste. the service is a bit better at SGD and i was impressed when one of the waitresses address some japanese customers in their own language. actually there were quite a few japanese in the restaurant that day. SGD has an instant coffee machine for your wait or as you leave, but CD has soft serve ice creme (city search doesn't allow the correct spelling). well, it's not really ice creme, it's some sort of frozen imitation. CD is less crowded and is right across the street from Seoul Garden. Many people will say SGD is better and on the right day, i'll agree. today it's Cho Dang's turn. more

More than just tofu 3/24/2005

The tofu house is tough to find, but it's got an authentic feel to it. Bubbling soups hit the spot. Korean barbecue comes with loads of sides. Can't beat the price. Plus free soft serve ice cream. No frills, but charms in its own way. more
