Editorial review from Citysearch 7/22/2012

had lunch there the other day with a bestie and the staff seemed like they weren't interested in helping you (acted like they did not want to be there)---waited a while before anyone came to take our order ---the subgum was very mushy and the crunchy noodles underneath were stale. Fried shrimp was good and the egg flower soup was nasty with globs and globs of tofu! don't think we will be going back ---found restaurants in Forest Grove a lot better with a more than decent lunch menu! + tastier food more

Disappointing 10/1/2011

I'm Chinese, but to me the food is not that good. And the service is a little slow. Congee is really bland, had to pour much soy sauce to have some taste. Roasted duck in the dim sum was very COLD, it was like from the fridge! It's the first time I was given cold roasted duck. Out of 9 items I ordered, only the chicken feet were good. I will NOT go back. I don;t understand the good reviews here more

Authentic and excellent 7/18/2011

True Chinese food -- just look at the clientele. Chinese families eat here for the REAL thing done the right way. Excellent fish, beef, pork.. DIM SUM... you name it. Sometimes a bit difficult to communicate with the staff, and the decor is nothing grand, but the food makes up for it. Try something daring -- look at the special board. AND -- they bar-b-q their own ducks, pork and ribs. Truly an outstanding place in a little strip mall. Well worth visiting Sat & Sun for dim sum at noon.. or dinner during the week. Addictive! more

Very good dim sum 11/22/2009

We are dim sum addicts.\r When I found this place so close to home I have been back again and again.\r \r They have many authentic dishes - not necessarily geared to the western palette. If you're an ""egg foo young"" and ""sweet and sour white meat chicken"" type of Chinese food eater, this place is probably not for you. Chicken paws (feet), boiled tripe, taro root puffs and lotus bean paste balls are the joy of dim sum - so get your head in the game or don't bother!\r \r The dim sum (aka ""love nugget"") is as it should be - super (dare I say ""uber""?) fresh, piping hot little dumplings and pastries filled with a wide variety of meats and vegetables. \r \r I cannot go to dim sum without assuming that I will be taking $30 worth of leftovers home, because the joy of dim sum is trying EVERYTHING!\r \r Dim sum comes out on trays here, but if you don't see what you need (yes, I said ""need"", not want, because we dim sum addicts have needs...) they usually whip it up in about 10 to 15 minutes. Some special items are only served on weekends, as is with most dim sum places. The crowds are heavy, but the the rewards are great for waiting it out on a Sunday morning for the feather-light golden flaky little meat pies and puffs. Pros: great variety more

If you like Dim Sum, this is one of the best in Portland 2/3/2009

I love Dim Sum. I've eaten it in Dim Sum Heavens like NYC, SFO, and Vanc. BC. This place is as good as those or very close to it. Don't go here for ambiance. This is your typical, straight at you, Chinese Dim Sum, on the carts, and under the Flourescent lights. But the food tastes great, comes to you hot , plentiful, and fast. Good value for what you pay.\r \r I don't know what the earlier reviewer was talking about; there is no chinese style buffet. You either do Dim Sum or order from the Menu(which I've never done)\r \r Service is quick, efficient, and sometimes maybe too persistent. The carts keep rolling by!! My advice is to start slow with a couple of plates at a time. That way it will be fresh and hot. Pros: This is what Dim Sum is suppose to be. Cons: Not a huge place. Can get crowded at times. more

Great DimSum! 11/1/2008

This one of my favorite places to go for DimSum and I go probably once a week with my boyfriend! I've never had anything other than the DimSum so I can write about the rest of it, but for DimSum....I would definitely check it out! Pros: Great DimSum, affordable! Cons: Slow service at times. more

Don't judge a book by it's cover. 4/12/2008

Great food with dim sum all day, the server's are always fast and polite. I think sdtransplant might have his chinese restaurant's mixed up, since this isn't a buffet style. It doesn't have road access from murry blvd, so you have to hook back around on walker. This restaurant is a well kept secret! Pros: dim sum all day, with large variety of chinese dishes available, friendly, prompt servers. Cons: parking and access, especially when busy. more

This buffet style restaurant features an impressive exterior, but the fare leaves much to be desired. My wife and I, having passed this restaurant many times, decided to satisfy our curosity and check out this unusual building. We were quickly seated and served drinks, but the food (ala hometown buffet) was greasy, heavily salted and sugared, and in general, indigestiable. The bathrooms were a mess, with flies circling lazily over the filthy tiled floor. Avoid this dump unless you have a masochistic streak. Pros: good service Cons: worse than cafeteria food more
