Anyone who eats here and calls this even food much less good Chinese food has had their taste buds removed. The appetizers were something you would buy at Smart & Final, the dipping sauce was ketchup with some sugar and salt & the entrees were like eating grisly shoe leather which had been pickled in vinegar for a few years. When the Lotus Cafe, a vegan chinese restaurant in Orange, closed down I was pretty bummed. They had great food and amazing service. Well, I happened to stumble into China Palace on accident and it turns out that its run by the same owner. When we ordered a couple vegetable dishes, they related that they had some soy meat for their vegan customers if we preferred. Hell yes! I was happy to find that the food is just as delicious as I remember accept now they serve vegans and meat eaters alike. Sounds good to me and tastes even better! Pros: Too many to list, great vegan food is the tops for me though. Cons: Kind of looks like a prison on the outside, how about some mood lighting. more

I've been a resident of Irvine for many years, and China Palace Restaurant has always been my favorite Chinese Restaurant. The classical music, the beautiful Chinese decor, and the added banquet room creates the perfect atmosphere for any type of party (Graduation, Wedding, etc.). When I first moved to the area, I was reluctant at entering the restaurant because of the beautiful Chinese architecture. I thought ""that place must be expensive"", but after ""taking a chance"", I was surprised at how reasonable the prices were. I have never seen a Chinese restaurant so well mantained. Make sure you order their Kung Pao Chicken. Once you've tasted their version, you will never enjoy this dish at any other restaurant. This place is Highly Recommended.
