I got referred to Dr. Chin to have my wisdom teeth removed. I have to say, as much as I dreaded the procedure beforehand, it wasn't bad at all.
I had three wisdom teeth - one lower tooth horizontally impacted in the jawbone, another lower tooth partially impacted, and an upper tooth that had fully erupted. During the consultation appointment, they took the panoramic x-ray and answered any questions I had. I did have to point out a billing error, as they were charging me for removing four teeth instead of the three I had.
The surgery itself was a breeze. I opted for the general anesthesia, so I was out like a light in short order. 45 minutes later, the teeth were out, and I was in the "recovery room," which consists of a lazy boy and a few other chairs. I could tell that the local had worn off of the one side, yet I really wasn't in a lot of pain.
The reason I give such a high rating to this practice is because of the recovery time - which consisted all of basically a day. My removals weren't exactly routine - one involved removing a portion of the jawbone above my one tooth, and the other lower tooth was dangerously close to one of my nerves. Yet the next day I was able to eat solid foods like meatloaf and chicken on both sides of my mouth and not need painkillers after the first day. I also did not suffer ill-effects from the anesthesia, so I was administered the correct dosage.
Really, if you're like me, and the minimization of pain is your top priority, then I heartily recommend Dr. Chin's office for wisdom teeth removal.
