Chili's Grill & Bar

Chili's has a group of regulars who gather in the bar to watch football games. There are several TVs (maybe four?) that you might be able to view from the restaurant area if you stretch and turn your head just right, but your best bet is to be in the bar. That's not a problem since the bar area is a comfortable place to be. There are a counter bar with barstools, booths and tables in the bar area. This doesn't matter, though, as people mostly "gather" when there is a football game going on. Of course, you can order anything on Chili's extensive menu - from appetizers to soup to a full course meal to dessert. Several of their appetizers would be great for a football party. I like the variety of the Triple Play, which includes chicken crispers, Buffalo wings and Southwestern Egg Rolls. Since I'm not really a fan of Buffalo wings (too spicy), I usually double up on the chicken crispers and leave out the wings. If you're watching your waistline or trying to eat healthy, Chili's has several "Guiltless Grill" items you might enjoy. If you're looking to whet your whistle during the football game, Chili's probably has the most extensive drink selection in town. They specialize in Margaritas and have about a dozen different flavors. They also serve beer, wine, cocktails and some specialty drinks (strawberry daiquiris and revved up lemonade, for instance). I often eat at Chili's with my husband and/or friends. The salads are my favorite, although I enjoy many items on the menu. It was while eating dinner there last year that I learned how truly wonderful the staff is, however. As I was eating, I felt as though I was going to faint. One of the friends I was dining with, jumped up from her side of the table and kept me from falling out of my chair. Several nearby staff members rushed over and helped lay me on the floor. I was unconscious at this point so other staff members immediately called 9-1-1. When I regained consciousness, I began vomiting profusely. Since everyone else in the restaurant was trying to enjoy their meal, I was terribly embarrassed about this. The staff was extremely comforting, consoling and helpful right up to the second Emergency Rescue whisked me off to the hospital. more
