Chili's Grill & Bar

We eat at Chili's in Denham Springs about once a month, sometimes dine in, sometimes take out. It is consistently what we expect from the Chili's chain. One exception is the Chicken Fried Steak. It is outstanding, especially with the loaded mashed potatoes. We also like the Cajun Ribeye, but for locals it is not really very spicy. It does have a good flavor. The Southwest Cedar Plank Talapia is also very good. Prices are reasonable and the environment is fun, if a little noisy. The Chili's To Go service works well for us although you have to get out of your car to buzz them on the speaker. Kind of funny to get out; talk to them on the speaker while looking at them through the window and then get back in your car. Having a full wait staff on-site is a challenge for all restaurants and that includes this Chili's. Friendly and efficient, just not quite enough of them. more

We knew Denham Springs was getting to be a Yuppie Haven when Chili's came to town! At least it was some recognition by a big company that there was demand out here for a reputable, sit-down restaurant okay for families and singles. Chili's is a chain of restaurants that specializes in southwestern food...some Mexican, some Tex-Mex, and you can get steaks and salads and stuff like that, too. Prices are kinda mid-range, in the $8-12 range. The quality of the food I've gotten here has been okay...some times better than others. The store also has a To-Go area where you can call ahead and pick up your order without waiting. At least in theory. I had a bad experience with this (had to wait past the time they quoted...quite a bit past...then they messed up my order), but this was on a Friday night, which as you can imagine is pretty hectic. The location is good, near the interstate on Rushing Road. The restaurant is clean and it's decorated with interesting stuff. They have a kids' menu and my kids love the food. I have to give this place a C+, though. It's just kinda...okay. more
