Wow, the childrens museum is a great fun time for everyone! The 1st Thursday of every month is free for family fun! Who can't afford that, and they have a mcdonalds, pizza hut and some more food inside. The gift shop can be pricey, so make sure you have a buget to spend to remember your trip to the muesem. more

Dinosaur wonderland 3/29/2006

The Dinosphere at the Children's Museum (formerly known as the Cinedome), is a giant sphere filled with dinosaur fun and education. Outside on the street (at the corner of Meridian and 30th street), a huge dinosaur appears to be breaking out of the side of the structure. Inside, the experience is very pre-historically realistic, featuring lighting effects, fog, sounds and smells. more

An hour or a day! 10/27/2005

Currently the Normal Rockwell Exhibit is showing. My friend and I thought it would be a "run through" exhibit that we'd like and the children would tolerate... WRONG! It was VERY interactive and educations, a barrel of fun!! Every time we've had guests in town, we've gone to the Children's Museum. It's award winning and been recognized all across the United States. There are free educational movies shown (currently Gaileo and one of the stars above Mr Roger's neighborhood) and a LOT of places where you can actually try to make things work. It makes science fun. It's worth the money if you have a whole day to spend, or if you can go quite a few times in a year, splurge and get the membership. Then you can dally and take as long as you want to see what YOU want to see. more

Huge Museum! 9/19/2005

This museum is fabulous! We went here and were shocked at the amount of things to do. There are many different sections to explore and lots of hands-on activities for the kids. It took us all afternoon to explore the entire museum and we loved it all. The dinosaur is especially neat. more

Two thumbs way up for this museum! 8/4/2005

We love the Childrens Museum very much. One year, my mother-in-law bought us a family season pass for the Childrens Museum as a Christmas present. We enjoyed going there a lot. Recently, Dinosphere which has a lot of information about dinosaurs opened at Indianapolis Childrens Museum. Inside, they have shows with lights which looks like it's rainning and lightning. It's really cool show. In addition to Dinosphere, there are many places you can play and learn. I feel admition fees are getting very expensive, but it's fun place for both adults and kids to go. Sometimes, they have free admition day sponsered by local business. I am considering purchasing a family season pass in near future. more

Largest (and best) children's museum in the world! 7/19/2005

And worth every penny of admission. This museum is huge (400,000+ sq. ft.), has lots of permanent hands-on exhibits, and features many traveling exhibits as well (Mr. Rogers Neighborhood, Japanese Music, Moneyville, etc.). In 2004 they opened a new permanent exhibit - Dinosphere - that is incredible. They also have a special area for kids under 5 called Playscape. Any time we have visitors from out of town, we always head to TCM - it's a guaranteed good time. more
