Great place to spend a morning or afternoon 11/28/2005

The new Children's Discovery Museum in downtown Normal is a huge improvement over the old one. It is a brand new building with three levels. There are many many different activities for children to do. One of the favorites is the water activity--my son loves it. There is a "store", paint wall and many other activities. There is also a huge climbing apparatus. They changes some of the activities often. THere is always something new and fun to do. One of the complaints is the gift shop is right where kids can see it. It is hard to get out without a case of the "wants" Parking can also be a problem on some days. I would recommend this to anyone who needs something fun to do on an afternoon. more

Highly recommend the Children's Discovery Museum 9/13/2005

If you have children, you must make a stop at the Children's Discovery Museum. We ended up getting a family pass (more economical) and now we go at least once or twice a month. There are so many fun things for the kids to do. They can splash in a water exhibit, play trains, climb a unique maze, pretend to grocery shop in a little store, use the craft room and many more things. There is a little place to eat if you want to bring a small lunch or snack. This is a great place to also take out of town guests with children. Always a sure hit. What a benefit to the town of Normal! more

Making Learning Fun 8/2/2005

This museum tries. It really does. It just recently moved to a larger building and houses several interesting exhibits and even hosts Harry Potter nights when the new books come out. But after visiting the Children's Museum in Indianapolis several times, this one pales in comparison. It's small and doens't have the abundance of exhibits and things to do that the one in Indy has. It also caters specifically to children, leaving the adults that come with them bored and unfulfilled. It's a good time for the kiddies, at least. more
