Childgarden Child Devmnt Ctr

I do like Childgarden. My child has really blossomed since joining Childgarden. The 1 year old teachers are so very nice and the playground is awesome. I like the fact they are accrediated. I've never had any problems with the teachers, but the adminstrative staff never calls me back for anything!!! They also lie to me a lot about little things (vacation time, availability, etc.). I appriecate that they take kids that are developmentally disabled and have therapists on staff. more

11 years ago, during my wife's first pregnancy we were seeking a childcare center for our then to be future son. At the time we discovered Childgarden it was in a different location and was run solely by the St. Louis ARC. Now it is run by a partnership which includes the ARC and Easter Seals/UCP. They moved into a new center about 7 years ago but stayed in the same general CWE neighborhood. What we found was a child development center which was inclusive in every way racially, economically, educationally and developmentally. That is because one of missions of Childgarden is to provide an inclusive childcare environment for both normally developing kids and those that need more attention and care than other centers are equipped to provide. As this was our first child we struggled with the decision to put him in childcare at all but once we did we realized we had made the right decision. Great administration, but awful experience anyways. There were blatant instances of abuse to my child by at least 2 teachers. Childgarden hotlined themselves (which I give them a lot of credit for) but that does not change the fact that it happened there to my child. We should have listened to our gut when we first visited. We knew that the teachers didn't seem great, but we justified it by the amazing admin team. Save yourself and your child a lot of pain and DO NOT put your child there! more

be careful dont be fooled by awesome facility I had unbelieveably bad experienceS there for my family-- maybe it has changed since 03 04 - the director was not proactive with employees, serious issues were not addressed, I was taken in by concept of the daycare, but the daycare definitely did not hold up to the idea they try to espouse... more
