You've been to the Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium, Museum of Science & Industry and the Adler Planetarium. Maybe you've even been to the Chicago History Museum and Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum. But how often do you stop by the Chicago Cultural Center? It's located right on Michigan Ave. and admission is free - there is seriously no reason why you shouldn't stop in!
I love this place - there are always fun exhibits and the building itself is beautiful. I could easily spend hours just wandering around and admiring the architecture.
My favorite part, however, are the free international film screenings hosted from May through September. Every week, sometimes twice a week, films from countries like Taiwan, Canada, Italy, Switzerland, Poland, Brazil, Israel and screened for an eclectic audience. It's totally free, and you can even win tickets to the Chicago International Film Festival just for going! No RSVP is necessary, but make sure to get there at least half an hour early if you want good seats.
Some of my favorite films I've seen there this year and last are Canada's Seducing Dr. Lewis (totally hilarious!) and Algeria's Delice Paloma.
Pros: Free international film screenings, Beautiful building
