As far as state parks go, Chewacla is probably not great. However, if you take it for what its worth then it is fantastic. As mentioned before it is very conveniently located which is one of the main selling points. Also, it is fairly cheap. There is fishing available, but I can almost guarantee you will not catch anything. You are also limited to the shore line unless you bring your own boat. There is also a nice swimming area featuring a floating dock with a diving board. The water is rarely very clear, so if you can get past that you will be fine. The trails are not maintained that well, some are pretty rough especially for youngsters. Particularly the trails going down to the waterfalls. If you visit I recommend going to the waterfalls, but beware that this will be a workout both going down and up to them. Overall, if you live in the area give them a shot one day and decide for yourself. I believe you will find it is worth the cost of admission.
