I went here in the summer of 2010 - and the food was phenomenal. So - I went back. BIG MISTAKE.
I found out from a friend, while we were eating, that the restaurant had changed management in the past year - and the it's easy to see that it's gone downhill fast.
IT IS VERY LOUD. If you like noise while you eat (crying babies, screaming kids), feel free to enjoy your meal.
THE GUACAMOLE IS AWFUL. They mashed it to near-puree, and added some type of cheese...I assume to hide the poor quality of the avocados. It is edible, but not enjoyable to a guac connoisseur.
THE PORTIONS ARE SMALL. Compared to other Mexican restaurants I've been to, the portions are woefully inadequate.
THE MEAT IS OVER-SPICED AND DRY. I couldn't even taste the natural flavor of the meat, there were so many spices. It's nice to have a flavorful meat, but - this was overkill.
WAY OVERPRICED - not worth our money, even though we had a coupon.
You can make the choice for yourself: do you like a loud atmosphere, small portions, high prices, bad meat, and awful guacamole? If you do - then here's your restaurant.
If you don't like those things, I would definitely suggest La Costa Mexican Restaurant, located on the other side of the overpass, across from the mall. They have ample portions, a colorful and respectful atmosphere, reasonable prices, and TERRIFIC food.
Your choice, really. :)
