Editorial review from Citysearch 6/24/2013

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AND ANY OF ITS AFFILIATES. I don't believe this Chesapeake Landing exists anymore, but I am in the process of writing reviews on every site I can find. During our stay, we had maintenance issues on a nearly weekly basis. The office staff was unpleasant and rude on the rare occasion that they DID respond to inquiries. My car was stolen from the parking lot, and my roommate and several other residents had their cars broken into on multiple occasions. When we reported incidents to the office, their response was that they would not get involved in legal matters and it is the residents responsibility to keep cars locked and not leave valuables inside them. The year we lived there, there was a massive snow storm, and their snow removal was ridiculous. they had one pick-up truck with a plow go through the lot at about 12pm, and nothing else at all until after the snow had started to melt. I spent 3hrs digging my car out (i was pregnant at the time as well). We had a horrible spider infestation that the complex refused to address. To top it all off, this is over 2 years later and i am now fighting with the management company because they charged us $430 IN ADDITION TO our deposit AND our pet deposit for ""damages"" that they could not prove. we gave up fighting with them and paid the balance, and now, AGAIN THIS IS TWO WHOLE YEARS LATER, i have a negative remark on my credit report from these people saying that it was never paid, even though their own collection agency has documentation that our account was paid off. more

If you live here, you will regret it. Trust me. 3/16/2012

This place is a ripoff, and a terrible place to rent. Parking is insane, especially on sundays - whether or not you reserve a spot. Management is never available to help you, if you go into the office they never pay attention to you or try to help. Pet fees are $350 up front + $40 a month, their ""refundable"" deposits never get refunded, the hallways are constantly stinky, my boyfriends ""secured"" buildings front door lock is busted, so its easy for me because I can just walk right in, but SO CAN ANYONE ELSE. Whenever I stay overnight here there are cigarrette butts EVERYWHERE in the yard. And management is never available by phone, especially when I house sat for my boyfriend and tried to get his packages for him management wasnt helpful. This place is TERRIBLE. DO NOT RENT FROM HERE. And those pictures you see? They do not represent this place by any means. The gym is never well lit, and the pool is always dirty. more

DONT LIVE HERE 4/15/2011

DO NOT LIVE HERE! You can live here for two and a half years, pay your payment on time every month, and then they will treat you like CRAP when you leave! They are a bunch of scams who won't tell you how much you owe on the apartment cleaning when you leave....no, they wait until you leave and then they send the bill 3 weeks later so you can't flip out at them to their faces! The guy did the walk-through with us and told us everything looks it was kept in good shape, and he even mentions the carpet looked good for having a dog. BUT, of course, we get our bill and they slapped us with a $650 charge!! The bill went AGAINST everything the service manager told us when he did the walkthrough! They charged us $450 for carpet cleaning for a 2 bd apartment! Really?!? So these people are a bunch of scams that will do anything to keep your deposit and take even some MORE of your money! DON'T LIVE HERE! more

Friendly Professional 1/25/2009

We have lived here for four months, had the kitchen sink fixed three times, fell on the un-shovelled sidewalk and parking lot twice (management said they only have two guys for 600 apartments - now parking lot driving has terrible visibility), get woken at 6:30 a.m. at least twice per week because of the garbage trucks, broken windows which the management will not fix, a security door that doesn't lock, was promised new appliances and floors and didn't get them; almost non-existent insulation between exterior walls, other apartments, and stair wells - very noisy, peeling paint, you name it. I will not stay here a second longer than necessary! Pros: paint, Cons: fixtures, doors, carpeting, noisy, parking, service, snow removal, insulation more
