Better mediator than attorney? 6/16/2010

Probably a great mediator, not happy with her as a divorce attorney. Knowledgeable, on-target, professional. Too busy. I had to go over things again and again (on my dime) and she forgot details that were really, really important. We started negotiating from a reasonable standpoint. The other attorney started from a totally unreasonable standpoint, so our compromise . . . well you can imagine. I wish we would have used her as a mediator and skipped hiring attorneys as she would have been fabulous at that. She is all about finding solutions. Her approach was more about finding middle ground than fighting for what was right. She was a consensus builder, but she wasn't my advocate. I needed an advocate and didn't get one. Not remotely worth the money spent. Pros: Professional, Experienced, Knowledgeable Cons: Not a good advocate, too busy to do a good job more
