I have some experience, with Japanese food, and this is the best Japanese restaurant in Metro-Detroit, (and I would still prefer it, over any others in the country, so far). The noodles are perfectly cooked, and the sushi is really fresh. The sushi bar is a perfect place to sit, if you're going solo. Usually, the sushi chefs are a lot of fun to talk to. If you're going with a group, I suggest reserving a room. There are private tatami rooms for the cultured and open-minded (just don't forget to take your shoes off - it's considered disrespectful, if you don't). You can also dine in the karaoke room/bar. Oh, and make sure you try the ice cream (vanilla, green tea, mango, ginger, lychee, or red bean). They're all delicious!
Pros: Great food, authentic, fun even by yourself, prompt seating
Cons: Crowded
