Dr. Kevin Hausenauer was my Mom's doctor for many years. As she developed Alzheimers, I was deeply offended that he mocked her, was utterly indifferent to her fear & confusion, and generally heartless. I didn't move to change her doctor, because she feared someone new even more than his ""attitude"". I came to profoundly regret this when after a fall & deteriorating condition, she was transferred to a nursing care facility. One night she was having trouble breathing, and the staff contacted Dr. H. to come & see her. According to the 'rules' he should already have come when she was brought there initially. He didn't. In his amazingly arrogant way, he told them he wouldn't be bothered coming, and ""if she's that bad send her to emergency"". Not an ounce of genuine caring. I was stunned & furious. Thank heaven the good people in the facility asked one of their two lead physicians to come, and one did. He was profoundly compassionate, and while my Mother passed within a short time, I was so grateful that he responded with such empathy & eased her both her mind & her suffering. What's so horridly lacking in a physician that can't be bothered showing concern & professionalism to a senior - it's disgusting to me. Medicine is not just science - it's also patient care & compassion. One without the other is cold & can be dangerous. A couple of the reviews here refer to him being ""overworked"". I should think that medicine would be One profession in which you wouldn't sacrifice Quality of care for quantity of patients. Imagine being a patient in a helpless state & ask yourself - would you want a doctor that ""can't be bothered""?! Not me.
Pros: I'm reviewing the doctor - so None.
Cons: Cold, uncaring, and indifferent. Superior attitude and impatient.
