This vet is hard to work with and does not think in the interest of the pet. I moved to TN from Chelsea and needed to get heartworm medication for my dog. I had a test done which I paid a total of $75 for (visit+test) one month before moving. Living over 600 miles away from the clinic, I needed order the heartworm medication online to have it delivered. The vet refused to release the prescription to the online retailer, with no reason other than *we do not work with them*. I explained that I was not trying to take their business from them, that I just live so far away and have no other way to fill the prescription at this time. To save from the argument, I paid the vet for 6 months worth of the medicine and they mailed it to me. With 6 months passed, I needed the remaining 6 months of medication left on the prescription. I called again, and asked them to mail it as before. This time they told me I would have to pay them $4 shipping. I explained to them my circumstance and said that I would not pay them $4 shipping to put a $1 stamp on the 1 cent envelope just because they would not allow me to buy my pets medication elsewhere. They offered to transfer the prescription to my local vet in TN, but the local vet does not carry the brand my dog is taking. It is ridiculous that under these circumstances the vet is not thinking in the interest of the dog and will not allow me to purchase my medication the only way I can locally--through the internet that does not charge me any extra than me picking my prescription up from the local vet pharmacy. The vet will also not waive the shipping charge, stating it is a cost measure that they need to cover! This vet only cares about the money---Chelsea Animal Hospital does not care about my pet---I doubt unless you are willing surrender your money for inappropriate things that they will care about your pet, either.
Pros: Friendly front desk girls unaware of how crazy the vet's policies are.
Cons: Will not let you fill prescription online--even if you live 600 miles away!
