They LIE and the Food is AWFUL 6/23/2011

I was looking for my local guy but could not find the business card so I went online to look. Found this place and called - Asked Stephen if they were the same company I order from all the time. He said YES there must be a computer glitch.....What a LIE - I ordered the food and since it was for several of us I did not look it over, I just ran it next door. Then we all went to open it and YUCK!!!! The rice was nasty and the sweet & sour sauce was so bad we all ended up throwing everything out. The cheese puffs were nasty. Then to top it off they forgot the spring rolls. If the guy who called himself the assistant manager would have been HONEST which he was NOT then we would have saved $40 and had a good lunch but instead we wasted our money and are no longer even hungry. STAY away - We want our MONEY BACK! YUCK! more

No good. 11/1/2008

I would not recommend this to anyone. From the soup down to the main course, it was the worst tasting food I have ever eaten. more

Chinese like I never had before! 5/26/2008

I eat at this restaurant so much its sick! I actually cater meals in from here for my office as well. the prices are very reasonable and the food.... by far the BEST chinese I have ever had. I am never disappointed. The owner will not even concider buffet style because its not fresh enough. He cares that much about what hits the plate. I cant speak for the drinks, but the food 's fantastic. the restaurant is completely decorated in items brought back from China by the owner. If you are seeking an authentic experience for chinese food look no further. There's hardly ever a wait, I have always been seated promptly and its really easy to find. Pros: Fab food, great prices Cons: you get full ;( more

Restaurant founded by 4-Star NY Chef is still the best after 28 years 4/9/2008

I have dined at Chef Chan's for many years and enjoy the wonderful appetizers and entrees. The steamed dumplings are just to die for but so are all the other appetizers and entrees. My favorite appetizer is the chicken soong, which is as unique as their curry puffs, which you cannot get anywhere else in Houston. My favorite dish is the sesame shrimp but my wife likes the General Tso's chicken the best. My wife likes the atmosphere the most for she said there is no better place to relax than Chef Chan's. I often get a Mai Tai, which is made with fresh juices and is very good. My favorite part of the whole meal though is their made from scratch hot sauce. The hot sauce is the best tasting hot sauce I have ever had. The taste is a strong as the bite. Pros: Unique food with quite atmosphere and light relaxing music Cons: Cannot go often enough more
