I love the food here! Best and most delicious food in the county! The French Onion Soup is simply the best I have ever had and their French Chicken Baguette is heavenly. My husband loves their lemon vinaigrette. A visit there will always be rewarded with great food! more

Checkers Bistro is a restaurant that will leave you with not only one of the best dining experiences, but also a desire to return soon and sample the other delights offered and any surprises that pop up on the menu. This is due to the creative ability of the Chefs. They are not afraid to try new ideas and even compliment an old recipe with a contemporary twist. It is also important to note the ability to take the best flavors and foods from one area of the world and combine them with another to create an awesome treat to one's pallet. The tacos and pizza are just a few examples. It doesn't matter what dietary preferences are , Checkers will meet them through a variety of options on a very creative menu. The food is nothing less than perfect in preparation, and presentation. Combine this fact with the extremely friendly, yet courteous, service in a very warm and eclectic setting, perfect lighting (creating a romantic atmosphere at the same time as providing an intimate family atmosphere) and you can't lose. I strongly urge anyone who lives in the area or is planning on visiting the area to make reservations and dine at Checkers Bistro. Rarely do you find a pleasant place to eat where the dishes are prepared from fresh ingredients , awesome service, beautiful atmosphere, and still kind to your pocket. You will not be disappointed. My Family has lived in Lancaster our whole lives, we've tried many of restaurants and this is by far one of our favorites. In fact, they've agreed that they have the best Steak and Frites anywhere! Not only that, but my family dietary needs have always been met: 2 Vegetarians, Diabetic, and one picky eater. \r \r I believe they recently switched owners, and what a difference! We are amazed at how creative the chefs are, always concocting wondeful new dishes! Our family has never been disappointed. The prices are great for fine dining! They have wonderful multi-grain crusty bread that has always been served warm to us. The menu has such a variety from soups, gourmet salads, sandwiches, pizzas, small entrees, and larger. \r \r In addition to the wonderful food, the building is such a surprise on the inside. It's quaint and set the perfect atmosphere and ambiance for any special occasion, but also great for the perfect meal at anytime.
