Check Maid Cleaning

felt the need to leave a review for the checkmaids. they did a fantastic job pre-guest arrival. i was originally going to clean myself, as i usually do, but this year there's just *too much*. after this, i'm considering not cleaning again either. the price for my small studio is right around $90 for a recurring, which saves me enough time to justify it. it's also a bit more thorough than i typically do myself, which is to be expected from professional cleaners i suppose. great service, all in all. really loving some of the new startup services in the City lately.. more

I caved. I paid a cleaning service to do the dirty work. I felt dirty just dialing their number. Am I that lazy? Am I not managing my time appropriately? Do people seriously clean ceiling fans regularly? Yeah, these were the questions praying on my mind as I scoured the Check Maid website last Friday. Referred by my friend and partner-in-wine-crime, I was pleasantly surprised to find they were present on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube -- and had a blog! Transparency for the win -- I was immediately sold. I booked an appointment online for the following day and received a follow up email within 30 minutes. A team of two arrived (40 minutes early) and went to work. Initially I had planned to leave them to it but the guilt kicked in and I found myself reorganizing the closet, doing laundry and carting out the boxes I had sitting in the hallway for a month. Get this -- they clean inside appliances, under the cooker hood, ceiling fans, skirting boards, press doors, blinds, window sills, the crevices of a wine stand...Places I'd never go! The team was extremely pleasant, fast and efficient. Ant they brought me a bottle of wine! Wine! That's a deal breaker if ever I saw one ;) more
