My mother received a bill for .90 cents, she went into the office in Barre, Vt with her bill to pay it. The service representative would not take her money until she produced her ID that showed her name that the account was her. My mother who is in her 80's went out to her car and got her ID went back in side and the representative handed her a paid receipt and didn't even look at her ID to verify it was her or not. My question is why do you require an ID if you are not going to look at to pay your bill? Why do you require one all to pay a bill? I can understand if you want to make changes to the service but to pay a bill?
