I recently ate at the Chart House in Redondo Beach and was blown away by the food, service, and ambience. It was AMAZING!!! So my fiance and I decided to meet another couple for dinner at the Chart House in the Marina. Again the food was fantastic. The ambience was good but the service was awful. The first error was I made a reservation several days earlier but it wasn't wrote down so we had to wait for our table. Then, our waiter seemed completely distracted. He never refilled our water glasses. (We were there over 2 hours). I had ordered a glass of white wine to be brought out with my dinner which he forgot. We ordered dessert with a glass of port and he forgot that as well. He brought over our check and asked if there was anything else we needed and we replied ""Yes, the dessert we ordered."" He said ""Oh Yea"" and walked away. I expect this type of service here in LA at a restaraunt where an entree ranges from $9-12 in price but the each of our entrees was over $23. I expect top notch service with this price range. The other peeve I had with this waiter was he didn't offer any descriptions of the specials. He didn't have any suggestions of wine to go with the meal. What a difference from the Redondo Beach Chart House. At Redondo Beach, we felt like we had our own personal waiter. He was attentive, offered suggestions, timed our appetizer, entree and dessert perfectly. Maybe this was an off nightfor our waiter at the Marina Chart House but we won't be going back. We will be going back to the Cheesecake Factory up the street for our special dinners.
Pros: food and view
Cons: service, service, service
