My wife made a reservation for a group of 18 to arrive at 4PM early on a Saturday. Realizing it was a large group, we were promptly seated by a friendly staff. A few from our group got lost and were 30 min late but the service was fine and friendly. Appetizers and Salads: Oysters on the half shell were $9.00 and not opened to order, served on broken clam and oyster shells were large and tasteless. I expect freshly shucked oysters when on a menu otherwise don't bother. Shrimp and scallops wrapped in bacon were fine. The mussels were surprisingly good and I wished I had ordered them. The salad, a simple iceberg lettuce drowned in sysco dressing. Entrees: The steak was fine the crab cake was a filler fried glob, The Fish, flounder that day tasteless and unappealing. The broiled combo, fish was like beef jerky in consistency I am not aware of the rest. Soft Shelled crabs: $22.00 I was so excited to see them on the menu, then they were served, 2 crabs floating and I mean floating in butter. Stunned I drained it into a glass at the table and it filled a 6 ounce glass. Ruined I took three bites and could not eat the rest. \r

At this point I was so disgusted by the food I just wanted to leave. Many questions going through my mind. This is a beautiful place and a perfect location and the food for the price was HORRIBLE. The thing that struck me the most was how crowded it got. Do these people have no taste? or just no other place for Sat night so they just go. As far as my qualifications as a food critic. I grew up in a gourmet restaurant that was published in an edition of gourmet magazine. \r

I did bring the soft shell issue to the server and she did let the owner know. I'm not sure if they were on the bill or not but it will not matter I won't return and the quality of food will most likely remain the same. \r
