Charles Towne Landing is the site of the first permanent settlement in Charleston back in the 1600's I believe.
THis is a wonderful park with many interesting features including a replica ship and village that are true to the time. During the summer there are volunteers who tend the 'town' and engage the visitors by showing them how hand-made candles are made, etc. They have an old printing press and forge, etc.
Huge park grounds with a zoo and lots of trails to walk around on. Spend a day here.
