I have been going to Charles Elias Salon for more than 2 years now. I get exceptional service every time I go. Tarin is THE QUEEN of cuts. She makes my long hair look very voluminous, bouncy and full of life...without sacrificing the length! I live in Manhattan and the commute is a pain, BUT it is worth every minute of my time. Highly recommend. more

Thank you Chad! He made me feel welcome and understood my needs. I'd given him a vague idea of what I wanted to see done, just like I did at other salons. However, unlike the others...Chad got it right! My voice was heard. I feel lucky to have found a salon that takes the customer's requests seriously. Go to Bay Ridge and trust these fine folks. You'll certainly leave with a smile, and the looks to compliment it too! more

Great Service, Great Prices 4/27/2012

I grew up outside of the city, so when I first moved here I gasped at the prices for a simple wash, cut, and blow dry...and had too many bad experiences in Manhattan to count. Finally I found my gem right in my neighborhood in Bay Ridge... The entire staff is friendly at Charles Elias Salon, and the price is just right (not quite upstate prices, but definitely doable!) I have been seeing Christina for about three years and she not only is a great stylist, but a great conversationalist as well. She always gives me her honest opinion when I ask for it, and makes great suggestions when I'm not sure exactly what I want. I should note that I've never had any services beyond my quarterly wash, cut, style and blow dry, but I've noticed that all of the other clients always seem happy with whatever service they are having done. Bottom line - I would recommend the salon to anyone. more

Super Professional! 11/11/2011

Charlie has been cutting and coloring my hair for as long as I can remember. When he opened his own salon, I was thrilled for him. He and his staff are as good as it get. Jamie welcomes you and keeps the salon schedule moving like a fine timepiece. I never have to wait. The salon is clean and soothing. All the stylists are talented in color and cut. I highly recommend this salon. You will love the way you are treated. more

Charles Elias Salon- hair 10/28/2011

The reason I went there was to use a ""groupon"" I had for a moisturizing treatment. I winded up getting a haircut there with Jasmine and I was extreamly satisfied!! The salon is so nice, neat, and comforting!! Everyone was super friendly and helpful!! Jasime gives a great haircut and did exactly what I asked for!! This is my new salon!! more

Christina is great 6/9/2011

So happy I went there. I haven't cut my hair in 2 years. I'm not kidding. I have long curly hair and it was impossible to get someone who would listen and do a great job. Well, Christina is that person. I went there because I was desperate. checked all the reviews and they weren't bad. Well, I got there early and everyone was so nice. The receptionist was accomodating and Christina came right over to me to tell me her previous client was running a bit late. Offered me conditioning treatment while I waited. They kept checking on me to make sure I was comfortable. Christina was great. Talked to me first and listened to what I wanted. Was patient and so friendly. I didn't cut much because I was nervous after not cutting for so long but I am definitely going back to Christina to cut a bit more. Charle Elias Salon is great... You must check it out. more

The Best Hair Salon Ever!! 5/23/2011

Finally, after years of trying every high end salon in Bay Ridge and even Brooklyn Heights, I bless the day I found Charles Elias. I actually used to walk into salons with photographs and walk out with a completely different hairstyle from the photo!!! Now, I go to Charles Elias and have my hair cut by Chad, who is wonderful and gets it right ALL THE TIME!! Taryn does my color and highlights and she is the greatest. I have been going there now about a year and I never have to worry about anything going wrong -- I can close my eyes and not open them until I leave and I know that I will look awesome when I walk out. (Be honest, now --haven't you had the experience where you were going along just fine with a salon and then one unmagical day disaster strikes? Well, believe me, I have. It doesn't happen at CE!!). They are consistently perfect all the time. more

I did some research online to find an awesome place to get my hair done and found Charles Elias with outstanding reviews. I am very particular with my hair color and stylist. When I called to schedule an appt, they recommended Lisa for both. She does exactly what you want, very pleasant and professional. Thank you Lisa. :) more

Great hair at a reasonable price 4/1/2011

I have gone to Jasmine a few times for cut and color. She spends a lot of time fine tooning the cut sothat it looks perfect. I receive a ton of compliments after she does my hair. The prices here are great! It is more than worth the commute from the city. And Jasmine is the best :) more

Great haircut! 3/27/2011

I went to Charles Elias on the recommendation of a friend who looked stunning after Jasmine worked her magic on her. Jasmine was also my stylist. She is very personable, asked all the right questions, and gave my a fantastic cut and color! It's always nerve-wrecking going to a new salon for the first time, but I am sold. I totally recommend coming here! more

Happy I found this salon. 3/24/2011

Recently started going here, and am really loving everything about it. My stylist Cristina does my color beautifully, and she is really nice. Everyone is very nice here. Love the young woman up front at the reception desk, she always remembers my name!! Love that!! And they carry Bumble and Bumble products, which I just started using, and I love those too. Definitely a great find. more

Creativity & Originality 2/10/2011

Salons are a dime a dozen in the Bay Ridge area, but creativity and originality are definitely not. I have visited many local salons and they all seem to be the same thing. They all also seem to have the same elitist attitude toward anyone who may want to break out of the routine mold, looking down their nose at customers they don?t see as their ?target clientele?. It is a different story at Charles Elias Salon. Here, each customer is respectfully treated as an individual, with the stylist taking a personal interest in creating something unique for that person. Jasmine is a prime example of this. She is dedicated to her craft and seems to genuinely care for her clients. She truly listens to the client. She is a true artist and enjoys thinking out of the box. I appreciate the way she treated me and was incredibly happy with the color job she did. And the cut?.she nailed it! Jasmine proved she is one of those rare stylists who you can trust to do what she judges best. It is because of her attention to her clients as individuals that she can do this without flaw. more

Finally - a great cut in Bayridge!! 12/8/2010

Had a great first experience at Charles Elias Salon...Upon arrival, I noticed a very clean, open, professional and engaging environment. The staff was very friendly and nice - they took my coat and gave me chocolates and green tea. A great start! Once I sat with Jasmine, I let her know I've been looking for the right cut for some time in the neighborhood and can't seem to find someone who can style and correctly cut curly hair. She made some suggestions about how to give my hair it's maximum natural curl with little maintenance, then she went to work. It's one of the best cuts I've ever had - cut and styled to perfection. Jasmine also made great suggestions about color and highlights, which I will be going back for after the holidays. This was my last shot at getting a decent haircut in Bayridge and Jasmine pulled through. When I was checking out, the very friendly woman behind the counter put together and little gift bag for me which included some bumble and bumble shampoo and conditioner - they apparently give this to their first time customers...nice touch and nice job Charles Elias!! more

i recently read all the positive reviews for this place online and decided to try it out for myself. i am very pleased i did, as i got a terrific haircut by chad. he was very professional and listened to what i wanted, and did exactly that. everyone was very friendly and attentive. fabulous haircut, and fabulous experience. more

I cannot say one bad thing about the Charles Elias Salon. It is always a great experience. Jasmine has been cutting my hairs for years and has never done me wrong. She has great style and I can literally walk in and tell her to do whatever she wants and I trust her completely. The minute I leave the salon I usually receive compliments on my hair. The entire staff is so friendly, I love this place. more

Couldnt be happier!! 8/16/2010

My friend and I were recently recommended to Charles Elias salon for complete hair make-overs. We were both blown away by our experiences. The place is beautiful, the staff extremely friendly and professional, and our stylist Jasmine expertly transformed both of us into divas for the day. We were even given little Bumble and Bumble gift bags as a welcome gift after we were finished. Love the products, love the salon, and love our hair!! more
