RUN AWAY FAST 6/12/2012

I read so many great reviews about this place and thought I'd give it a try... come to find out that the bad reviews have been flagged and are not factored into the business' over all rating... hmmm?\r \r \r \r The lady here was really rude. Our dog's bed was not given to him as promised. Instead, it was left in the front for the cat to lay on. My husband is allergic to cats. I know it's not my dog's hair, because my dog doesn't shed, and the bed and blanket REEK of cat. I'm very unhappy.\r \r The kid working there was really nice, but obviously the staff doesn't communicate. When we dropped our dog off, the lady was hiding out in the back. She saw us walk in and said "oh, he's tiny." Then walked away. HOW PROFESSIONAL. They don't allow you to leave a collar with your dog.. When we came to pick my dog up, they had a ROPE around his neck... Yes, a rope. I was NOT impressed.\r When we showed up to pick the dog up, the door was locked and we stood outside for 5 minutes, only to have the lady be more

dog kennel 5/11/2011

If you want your dogs taken good care of, this is the place. My dogs love the people here and that is the most important quality I want when I leave them. They are very business like, some may take this as rude. The service can be slow, the facility is old but has a nice grass area with trees. I have been boarding my beloved family dogs with them for two years. I tried fancier, newer kennels in town but came back here. My dogs are happy to go with them and are clean and happy when I pick them up. I myself want their attention on my pets not me. The owners and staff are loving, caring people, once you get to know them. more

Vacation for our critters! 9/15/2010

We started using Linda's place almost 4 years ago and our doggies have spent numerous mini vacations there. Our largest dog CJ just loves it there and has been trained by Linda with great success. We have 3 others rescue pups and all except one has stayed with her. It is a well established place, and there is air conditioning and clean runs, with lots of room to run and play. Most boarding places have little or no places for your dogs to run and be happy. Linda knows her stuff and loves doggies and we am completely comforatable with our critters vacationing with her. We miss them terribly of course, but we know that they are in good hands. We plan on giving them a mini vacation this weekend (Sept 17th) and know they will have fun, eat well, be talked to, petted and loved "almost" like home. C & L, NW Las Vegas more

Dogs Like It! 5/19/2010

I love this place. We take our dogs there all the time. The runs are nice and the fact that the dogs get play time is great. I boarded by dog there for a week, and when we came to pick him up he smelled good and didn't seem to be stressed out. When we picked him up at other kennels he had always lost weight and looked horrible. They really care for your dogs there as if they were their own. I would definately recommend them to my friends. The only down side is they are bit expensive especially during the holiday season but I would gladly pay the extra money for good care for my dogs. more

Chaparral Animal Spa is a Great Place to Kennel 1/3/2010

I recently boarded my dog at this kennel for a week and requested dog play time two times a day. When I picked him up he seemed happy and well cared for. It seemed like he was given attention by the staff and plenty of play time during his stay. He wasn't overly excited when he saw me, and he didn't seem nervous or upset like he was after staying at a different kennel. He seemed tired when I brought him home, and I think it was because he spent so much time playing. Chaparral offers good care at a good price. I will have him stay here again and I would recommend it to friends. more

Our Dogs Seemed to Like It! 1/26/2009

We had our young dogs spend a couple of nights at Chaparral while we were in town for vacation. They were very flexible about letting us come by and take the dogs out during the day time-- there was never any problem with hours, or connecting with staff, etc. The runs seemed nice enough, and the dogs had plenty of fresh water. We were able to bring our own food. When we brought our dogs back for their second night at Chaparral, they seemed happy and excited and returned to their run with no problems! This was nice, because we were nervous... we've never kenneled the dogs before. The only problem we had was one dog had a harsh cough the second morning after kenneling. Both of our dogs have had their kennel cough vaccine, and our vet ER believes it may be a viral kennel cough. But really, there is no way to say-- it was so soon after leaving the kennel that the cough have been brewing even before he was dropped off there. Our other dog is fine. In sum, we would use Chaparral Animal Spa a more

Not what I expected.. 6/7/2008

I paid the extra $25 for a late drop off between 6-9pm (I thought wow, what a great service) when I dropped my dog off at 8pm Linda was very rude because she expected us to be there earlier, then she charged me for 4 nights instead of 3. I also paid $60 to have him dropped off at my hotel on the strip before I had to leave for the airport... She was 30 minutes late and didn't even know where the hotel was.. to top it off she drove away and I realized she had kept both of his favorite stuffed animals and replaced them with a raggy old towel. I will never take my dog there again. more

Boarding 8/2/2005

I have always been impressed with the care and cleanliness of this place. Very good care and the kennels are always spotless. Linda is very good with the animals and know a great deal about the care and training of them. PROS: Great Care CONS: None more

Great Obedience Training 7/27/2005

I took my dog to Linda, the owner of Chaparral to get her some obedience training. I had little faith in anything working because my dog was out of control. She is the sweetest thing ever but would not listen to a thing. After a week I made an appointment to go the Chaparral and see what Bailey had learned. I was absolutely amazed at the results. I had to ask myself if that was really my dog. After just a week she had learned so much. I can't wait to see the results when she is ready to come home. PROS: Results CONS: Price more
