Chanhassen Dinner Theatres

Chanhassen Dinner Theater is a fun dinner theatre, located in Chanhassen Minnesota, about 20 minutes west of Downtown Minneapolis. They have three stages and offer a variety of plays, with the main stage usually focusing on well known musicals. This is a professional theatre and the shows are very well done. The sets and costumes are also always amazing. Not only do you get a great show, the food is actually quite good. For the price of the show, you get dinner. There are many choices to choose from, including chicken, walleye, and steaks. They offer a full bar service as well. The smaller theatres offer non musicals and shows that are a little less known. The theatre offers plenty of parking and also has gift shops. more

The meal at the Chanhassen Dinner Theater is nothing to write home about. The entrées are dry and average at best. Desserts, drinks (except for water and coffee) are on your own. They do have a deal where for $4.50 you can get a bottle and have free refills all night of soda. The bottle is a keepsake. I felt the meal though, was below average and the servers were too intrusive. My water glass was promptly filled a little to often and the servers just didn't want to leave us alone. Also, tip is not included so be sure to bring cash for that. So the meal wasn't great. But the play was very good. We saw "West Side Story" and the acting was magnificent!! Truly a great play and well worth enduring the meal or just skip that part all together. There is an Intermission so the night does run a bit late. more

I actually visited here in highschool as a field trip and really enjoyed it. I saw Fiddler on the Roof. They served us a dinner before hand. The food was okay but what the food lacked, was made up for in the actual play. The theater is very relaxing and nicely arranged. It makes you forget where you are for a second and get lost in the actual show. I would definately recommend seing a show here. more

Chanhassen Dinner Theatres is overall a good experience, although the food served before the show begins is less than tasty with limited options. The performance, however, was excellent. Much of the local talent did a great job acting and engaging the audience. I would recommend going there to see a play, although would not recommend doing the combination of dinner and theater. more

this is a great place to go out to dinner and see a movie. the theater is great, the food is great, and the atmosphere is wonderful. they always show good plays and you can pretty much always get tickets. the tickets aren't too expensive, but it is a nice place to go for a somewhat dress up date more
