Changing Hands was always my favorite place in college. Right down the street from ASU it is conveniently located and easy to get to. It is easy to get lost in the gret selection of books and spend hours browsing and reading. The great thing is they will let you do it! They don't hustle you in and out and the staff there are amazing. It's definately a great value! more

Great used bookstore, reasonable prices and great events! 12/29/2005

Changing Hands offers new and wonderful events! They have not failed at shocking me with what new speaker/book signer they will have to visit the store! On top of great events the book store in general is maintained and appeasing. The prices on books are generally reasonable, however it helps to know how much the same book will cost at Bookmans or another used bookstore. They have a great selection of new and old books alike, and can also order hard to find books for you. more

Great selection 11/7/2005

Changing Hands bookstore has a great selection of books, no matter what you are looking for. They have both hard-to-find books as well as best sellers, all at reduced prices. I find that I sometimes get a better deal at other stores, so I have to watch out. But for the most part, I am happy with both their prices and service. There always seems to be something going on during the weekends and it is a great place to take the kids when there is! more

My favorite bookstore 10/4/2005

This is my absolute favorite bookstore in the Valley, and certainly a great gift shop as well. Sell your books at competitive prices, find new and used books at equally competitive prices. Furthermore, they really do have a great selection of books. I find it hard to walk out empty handed. They've got a great card section and have a variety of global-themed gifts. Changing Hands also hosts a number of free events and book signings... there's always something going on here. Bring the kids, too... they've got a fun kids section. more

My daughter loves this place 10/2/2005

Changing Hands Bookstore offers great books at great prices. Some of their selections are pricey though. They've got hard to find books that you can't find in those large retail bookstores. My daughter loves this place and whenever we go here, she gets home with something to read. Staff are friendly and would assist you as soon you get in. more

Great selection and lots of programs 9/2/2005

I love this store! It seems like a small place, but they have a great selection of books and very well organized. They also have excellent community programs. Kids programs every Saturday with characters, puppet shows, story time and even farm animals and insects. Also some Spanish conversation groups in the Community Room on occasion. more

great bookstore 8/20/2005

Changing hands is a wonderful book store hidden in tempe.. You actually have to look for it, I would have never known such a wonderful place was hidden in that strip mall. They have a huge selection, and the employees are so passionate about books. Very helpful. The childrens area is just lovely. Definatly go to a storytelling hour, its worth it. A lot better storyhour then at one of those huge unfriendly bookstores. more

Not your average bookstore 8/15/2005

This bookstore has a very surreal quality to it. It is very peaceful. The people who work there are very knowledgeable and passionate about books. I also like the fact that there is a Wildflower Bread Co. attached to the bookstore, so one can get coffee or tea while you read a good book. The quality of selection has always been superior, and I always look forward to a visit to Changing Hands. more

Looks can certainly be deceiving. You would never know by looking at the outside of this bookstore tucked away in Tempe that inside is a treasure trove for book lovers. They seem to get the best book signings in the state. They have books that you just can't find anywhere else. They have a storytelling hour once a week for the kids which is great. Not enough kids read nowadays and that needs to change. more

Great Book Boutique 8/4/2005

Changing Hands has a great selection of both new & used books. The kids' area is bright and attractive and has all the most popular series and picture books. The staff are educated and knowledgeable. The store is clean and well lighted. There are plenty of new-age gifts to browse through. Parking is easy. There is a healthy cafe next door with organic stuff. more

Super book shop 8/2/2005

Changing Hands sells new and used books of all sorts in a small, tucked away corner of a strip mall. Their gift selection is very cool and they frequently have book signings, lectures and reading groups. Parking can be tough on a busy weekend afternoon, so try to go on a morning or in the early evening. more

Changing Hands Bookstore 7/28/2005

This little independent bookstore wedged in a strip mall in Tempe is deceiving. This place draws some of the best book signings in the city. This store is well known for its authors, its variety, its classes and its active participation in the writing community. Any puiblished writer and every avid reader knows this store, and it's worthy of your visit if you fall in either category. You'll definitely be back once you stray through the doors. And don't forget to sign up for a book group. more
