Chang Garden Wausau

Chang Garden is the best restaurant in the Greater Wausau Area. I have lived on the West Coast for a number of years and have not found a comparable restaurant even in Seattle. The atmosphere and staff are charming. The restaurant is clean as can be and the service is always excellent. The dishes are savory and flavorful. Unique in quality and taste from any other Chinese restaurant that I have been to. I highly recommend the Sesame Tofu...it is the best tofu dish that I have ever had. The ingredients are always fresh...not your typical freezer-fare joint. Take out is always exceptionally prompt but do not expect delivery to be as expedient. more

I have been a die hard Chang fan since they've opened. They completely deserve the "Best Ethnic food" in Wausau title that they have won 4 years in a row. I don't know how you can even compare it to buffet food, it's in a different class of its own. For one thing everything is made fresh when you order it and the quality of ingredients is above and beyond anything you'd find at a buffet. Nothing sits under heat lamps. They don't use any MSG like all the buffets, which is a HUGE thing for me since I sometimes get migraines from MSG. Try asking a buffet to not use any MSG and see what they say.....I spend about 10 bucks or less for a meal including tax at dinner time and it more then fills me up. I normally get the General Tsao's Chicken which is exactly $10.02 after tax. In my opinion that's not very expensive for the quality of food they give you. Sure, if you want all you can eat at a set price, then go ahead and eat at a buffet. I care more about quality then quantity so I will stick more
