Avoid these Apartments! I have been a tenant at Charter Oaks Apt for nearly a year and a half. Unfortunately, when second-hand smoke started to enter our apartment (we live on a second floor apartment, a smoker in the unit directly below), the apartment management did nothing. After complaining for nearly two months, the maintenance finally came to try to seal our apartment off from the one below. While this did lead to improvement, the smoke from the common hallway as well as from the air ducts from below still made the apartment unhabitable. This situation has forced us to leave. The apartment management was unaccommodating and were not willing to resolve this issue. The Buisson Investment group which manages these apartments are pathetic. Steer clear of these generally poorly constructed apartments and the management which is even worse. more

I have lived at this complex for over a year now. From the outside it looks dated, but the appartments I looked and and the one I moved in to is nice. This is not a high end place. No extras here. I have not seen or know of any issues happing in the complex. For the area, I do not think you can find a better cost. As for the staff here, they have changed, and the current ones seem to be nice and address the few maintence issues I have had quickly. I will say there are a lot of college age people living here, but other than some parties, it has been nice. more

i hate this place!!! the office staff is rude, short and they really dont care aboput anything but filling units.. they have lost my mail... they rented us a dirty apartment.. and when we complained that the carpet reeked of urine.. the guy that came out said he had a stuffed nose and couldnt smell anything.. and thats the last we saw of him.. we ended up having to buy a steam cleaner and a lot of cleaning products just to make this godforsaken place livable.\r sure, its cheap.. but its like a mini slum.. the police patrol at night.. and during the day... which i suppose is a good thing.. but they park and stare at particular houses.. kinda makes you think they are looking for a reason huh?... some of the neigbors are ok.. most stay to themselves.. but there are those with teenage kids who like to spraypaint obscene things on fences and shoot bb guns into windows and at fences when you are in your backyard... they pour sugar water on your front porch to attract ants.. do i sound like i am venting.. maybe.. i am still sore about the office giving out my package to someone else.. a package containing act scores that i paid $40 for an d needed to start college this semester.. but now i cant.. i have to spend another $40 to get new copies... and wait till next year. and all the old hag at the office said was sorry. didnt offer to look for it.. or even care that it was important.. she just asked me if i lived here.. WHAT!?! do i live here?.. o! and dont bother calling the home office.. you wont get past the receptionist... shes a hag too. Pros: cheap... Cons: everything else... more
