I certainly would think twice before I would consider contracting with the Tom West Company, regarding the management of your rental unit or rental home, especially if you live too far away to make random trips to Dothan. I engaged TW to be responsible for renting my newly redecorated and remodeled home to screened and qualified tenants. But, the tenants who could not pay rent on time and who habitually and ridiculously complained every month about the garbage disposal, the microwave, one room is hotter than the other room, the garage door, and after a back door was mysteriously kicked in; destroying the lock, hinge, molding, facing; (blamed it on a break-in with no police report) I decided to sell the house, and after the tenants moved out, I traveled to look at the house, OMG; the interior was destroyed, from the yellow sticky grease caked on the walls in the kitchen, both toilets broken, wall-paper peeled off of the walls, holes and dents in walls; permanent marker stains on walls; all three closets doors broke, missing blinds, missing screens, mold in dishwasher, an inch of crud on the bottom of the oven; top of oven destroyed, had to replace the kitchen counter tops, caked gum, feces, urine and food discoloration stains on carpet and SO much more; I said all that to say this . . . Tom West gave them their deposit back, he gave these renters their deposit back! Tom West told me it was NORMAL wear and tear! However they wanted these particular “screened qualified” renters to rent another property from them. (I feel sympathy for those property owners) So, that is why I seriously would consider before I would contract with them. I am using another property management company in Dothan managing another rental house that I am very comfortable and secure with.
