Central Square Eye Care

I have been going to Dr. White on the recommendation of a co-worker for 4 years now. Dr. White always remembers me and has taken great care of my eyes. My care has been pretty routine but then one New Years I got a tiny shard of metal in my eye and he say me first thing January 2nd and got it out and gave me drops to keep the infection out and give me relief. And then he saw me two days later to check to make sure the eye was healing properly. He did not charge for the second visit and he put the first visit under my annual visit. Until something serious happens with your eyes you do not realize how great an optometrist is. Oh and on top of being a good doctor he has great frames. Pros: Great Care, Great Service more

I actually think Dr. White is quite nice and amiable. However, he charges for both a regular exam and a contact lens fitting every year. I called another optometrist (the one I am switching to) and after your initial intake, each subsequent year is merely an inclusive ""contact lens exam"" that covers the impact of the contact on your eye health. They don't see a need to fit you if they know your size already, etc., I guess. They do say that they have to do a ""regular exam"" on top of the contact lens exam every other year--this works well with my health care plan as I'm only covered for a regular exam every other year. It seems Dr. White would like to get as much $ as possible by doing both every year. After I complained and asked for an explanation as to why I needed to be ""fitted"" for contact lenses I had worn of the same brand and size for the past 2 years, he offered me a discount on that exam, but not really an explanation. I'm sure this is standard practice at other optometrists too...I just found one that will check for my eye HEALTH every year without the excess charges. Try BrightonEyeCare and ask for Louis. It is understandable that doctors, like the rest of us, are trying to bring the bacon to home. Nevertheless, I think if you are in health care business you should be showing a bit more concern in your patients than you do in the money you make off of them. At least they should ?pretend? that performing additional tests and etc. are carried out with the patient?s best interest in mind. I found Dr. White to have a disgracefully money driven personality. The worst of it was that he had no intentions of concealing his true agenda. I will never visit his offices again, and would not recommend him to anyone. more

A hidden gem!\r \r I have spent years searching for a place that is big enough to have a great selection of stylish frames but small enough to provide great service, it's usually one or the other. Central Square Eye Care is the perfect mix, I'm thrilled to have found out about them.\r \r Dr. White is a courteous, professional and caring practitioner. In my opinion, however, George is the real reason that I will never shop anyplace else for glasses. I know this will sound corny, however, he is the Leonardo of eyewear. It is so refreshing to see someone who so obviously loves what he does and is also naturally gifted at his craft. George is low-key, not pushy at all. He will also be honest about how something looks on you while making suggestions based on the shape of your face. He's so good that he could probably help you select the right frames with his eyes closed. After the selection is made George really shines, his technical skill and old-world craftsmanship are things to behold. I came in wearing a new pair of glasses that he had recently made and, after saying hello, he immediately asked for the glasses and began taking them apart in front of me because he noticed that they weren't fitting properly! That's not even why I came in to the store...\r \r If you are looking for a store that offers really fun frames (especially Lafont!) and where you can be absolutely certain that the staff will do whatever they can to make sure you love your glasses then this is your new eye care place. I hesitate writing this review because once the word gets out about these folks I won't be able to get near it... Pros: Selection, surprisingly good prices and George, the eyewear superstar! This is, hands down, the best place I've ever gone to for glasses. A good friend first told me about Central Square Eye Care and had nothing but positive things to say about their service and selection. I decided to see for myself. I can always find a frame that I like, but can never find one that I love. Well, I fell in love with 5 frames and had trouble deciding which one to purchase. George was phenomenal and helped give me honest advice. He also helped me find frames that would fit my face (one of which I'm wearing right now). After choosing a frame, I realized that I didn't have an updated prescription with me. Dr. White brought me right back and in 1/2 hour, I had my new and improved prescription. I came out of my exam to find my fiancee with glasses on that looked amazing. He can never find frames that fit the bridge of his nose, but he didn't have trouble finding a gorgeous pair here. He ended up buying glasses the same day. I LOVE these glasses and am complimented on them everyday! Here's the unbelievable part. About 2 months after I bought my glasses, my dog chewed up the frames. I didn't know if they could be saved, so I called George. He told me to bring them in so he could try to fix them. After he looked at them for a few minutes, he took them to the back of the store, popped out the lenses (which were still in perfect condition), put them into a new frame (identical to the glasses I originally bought), and sent me home with new glasses - no charge. Outstanding customer service! I recommend them so often that I now carry around their business cards. If you're looking for unique frames and top quality customer services, this is the place to go!!! Please be weary! Do no go to this establishment. For a billing oversight made on their part, I was scolded for an unpaid ""contacts fitting"" that was already completed. A contacts fitting is a shame for people who already wear contacts. I was told one thing and they did another and now want to retroactively bill me. This place provided mediocre service at best. The Dr. maintains no level of professionalism and actually threatened me on the phone for receiving free services. I will never go here again and you should strongly consider opting for a better place that provides a higher level of costomer satisfiaction. more

Dr. White was very informative and preciece during my exam. I have been to other eye doctors and I never left with a pair of eyeglasses or contacts that I could see so well with. The whole experience was perfect from the start. The receptionist was freindly and professional. I was seen proply. I have a stigmatism and always had to wait a week for my contacts. Dr. White gave me a trial that worked perfectly the first time. I was done in 30 min. and left with my contacts in. George the eyeglass guy helped me pick out a really cool pair of eyeglasses. I picked them up in a day and I get tons of compliments. I will always recomend them.\r Pros: I can see perfectly, great service and selection. more
