I strongly suggest you call your insurance company before attending any sessions to get information on the level of coverage for outpatient mental health therapy, benefits, and your co-payment. Although you are responsible for the cost of your therapy I will provide the courtesy of billing your insurance, if the correct billing information and pre-authorization are submitted. I am on the panel of many insurances. When you call your insurance please ask them to be sure I am on their provider list. more

Intimate relationships can be one of life's greatest joys...and one of life's greatest frustrations, often at the same time. I coach couples to: Learn and practice not just a new way of communicating, but also a new way of seeing yourself and your partner. Understand how to go to the heart of an issue and bypass the traps of blame, criticism, distancing and judgment. Learn to ask for what you need in a way that your partner wants to listen to. more

EMDR, Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing is one of my chosen methods for treating emotional difficulties that are caused by disturbing life experiences, ranging from traumatic events, such as combat stress, assaults, and natural disaster, to upsetting childhood events. I have also found it can be effective in treating depression, anxiety, phobias and negative beliefs. EMDR facilitates the accessing and processing of traumatic memories to bring these to an adaptive resolution. After successful treatment with EMDR, emotional distress is relieved, negative beliefs are reformulated and physical arousal is reduced. more

More overt issues like depression, panic attacks, fear of spaces and crowds, substance abuse or other addictions, and/or an inability to sustain a close relationship may also be an indicator of trauma that is still held in the body/mind for which trauma therapy may help you. more

Negative patterns and distressing feelings may have their origin in very painful life experiences. If you are dealing with low self-esteem, lack of confidence, a feeling that you just never quite fit in anywhere, trauma may be an underlying cause. more
