Editorial review from Citysearch 10/22/2012

Home away from home--This place and the wonderful ladies who work here have been such a blessing for our family over the past 5 years. They have taken in my grandmother and treated us all like members of the family. We searched all over town for a home for our grandmother. It was devestating when she needed more care than we could provide. And trying to find a place as special as she is was seeming like an impossibility. Then we found Celebrate Today. God has really blessed us and answered our prayers! more

Salem's best 6/3/2011

I placed my Mother here in the fall of 2009 due to dementia and other ailing illnesses. The owner and caregivers have taken great care of my mother and also of me. They have always been warm, welcoming, informative and hightly EXPERIENCED in dealing with her declining health. She is so happy there and has made great friends. The house is always clean the food is always freshly prepared and her peronal care is better than anyone could ask for. I don't know who the othr people are that wrote reviews in regards to thus business, maybe it was a previous owner or they got the care facility name mistaken with someone else, but I would recomend this home to anyone. more

Heart-wrenching True Story 10/2/2008

If you read this review, you will think twice (and no more) about ever placing your loved one in ""Celebrate Today"" rehabilitation facility in Salem, Oregon. Recently, my grandfather suffered a massive stroke in Salem, Oregon (June '08). I'm the oldest grandchild of 7 (28 yrs old) and we're very close. To watch him undergo the debilitating pain of a stroke is a heartache. Upon hearing the heartbreaking news that my own Grandad, a man so gentle and respected among family, friends, peers, etc. was mistreated and ABUSED at this facility, I was shocked. You would think that healthcare professionals that enter into this field of work would actually intertwine ""care, concern, and compassion"" into their daily responsibilities of caring for patients like my Grandad. In fact, the opposite occurred. My Parents/Gran are very near in proximity to this facility. In front of their very eyes, they watched as nurses (who, mind you, are not even required by the state to get proper training necessary for adult day care provision and usually have no medical background prior to working at a foster home) refused to feed my Grandad for hours when he woke early in the morning, as he's done his whole life (as if you can change someone who's 76!)...hours he went hungry...AND, as they verbally abused him by telling him he could not leave his room when THAT WAS HIS NEW HOME...how would they have felt if someone came into their home and mandated what they can and can't do? Especially when my Gran is PAYING for this care. Lastly, the workers at this facility (since we can't call them nurses or ""professionals"" for that matter) verbally disrespected my Mom and Gran to their faces by talking as if my Grandad had no decency as to request food when he was hungry or to get out of his room due to boredom, and, to my knowledge, they never once apologized to them for their lack of professionalism. My Mom had to stop one woman from giving him the WRONG medication for crying out loud! Stay Away! Cons: Read my review: poor care, lack of training, lack of respect, and unprofessional more
