My business partner and I were passing through town, and we were excited to see a middle eastern restauant in Townlake. We ordered mango lassy which was good. I ordered the shawarma and tabuli, and my partner ordered kibbi and tabuli. My shawarma was awful.....as a matter a fact, it was not even shawarma. I don't know what the heck it was but it was not shawarma. I swear that meat came out of the freezer, went into the microwave and was put in front of me. It tasted like plastic. I was excited to eat at Cedars Taverna because of the review I read on Citysearch so maybe my hopes were set to high, but I didn't enjoy the food very much. My boyfriend & I went on a Friday afternoon for lunch and neither of us were too pleased with our meal. The hummus was watery and flat bread hard. My bf had the shish kebab and liked the meat but little else on the plate. I will say my Shish Tawook was good and the white dressing they had over some lettuce was tasty, but I'd probably try to find a Mediterrian restaurant downtown that is rated well before going here again.
