Cavu

The improvements to the 2 outside patios made for a great dining experience. The indoor dining room has all new seating which looks very inviting. I'll get there when the weather gets cooler. The staff is very meticulous in their prep for the restaurant as a whole. The last time I saw glasses steamed and polished was at the Radisson in DC. My husband and I discovered this place about two months ago. We have been regular patrons since then and eat there at least twice a month. Just read this last review and have to comment on it. We have met the owner and she is always there helping the staff to make sure everyone is happy. The food is always excellent with the portions being huge and always enough to take home for lunch the next day. We've told our friends about it and a few of them have gone and also love it. We're dye-hard customers who will keep on going back! more

Nu Cavu was not a very good dining experience for me. My boyfriend and I were seated, were served our drinks, and sat for over an hour waiting for our food. People who came in after us were completely served before us. The manager was coming around asking everyone how everything was, but skipped us because she knew we were unhappy waiting for our food. It wasn't until I started to take out my wallet to throw $10 on the table for the wine and grabbed my keys, that the manager apparently saw this and we got our food. My boyfriend's lobster was cool, and he got a much smaller portion of steak on his surf & turf than the table next to us (who also came in after us). My pork chops were fine at best, and the side portions were very small for the price. We used to love the old Cavu, however due to this experience we are not planning on going back. I do not know if it was the fault of the kitchen staff or our waiter, but at least he was nice enough to give us two free glasses of wine. We still had a $60 bill for two mediocre meals and 2 glasses of wine. more

People are driving from out of town to come to CAVU. It has become a great weekend spot, with a happening bar crowd, but also, great food. I've eaten there several times. The crowd at the bar is a good one. The TV's are huge, so you have a sports crowd. The food is delicious, with a large assortment of specials available. This restaurant has become more and more popular so I suggest checking it out on a weeknight for the first time. more
