good times, good food 6/27/2011

I have eaten here a couple of times in my travels, the food is usually pretty damn good. Unfortunately I haven't had more of a sample. The ribeye and tbone are often too thin of a cut for my taste but the flavor is there. The outside of the building does not lend itself to a high end steakhouse so the pricing is right for the area and decor. The lamb fries are a good choice, dont let the name trick you otherwise. They should add moonshine to the menu... more

Hands down the best "Value" in Oklahoma City 2/12/2011

I've been here numerous times, it is consistently my favorite steakhouse in OKC. You get "real" steakhouse flavor with Chilis/Applebees prices. The house dressing is delicious. \r \r Sure there are better steakhouses in OKC, however it is hard to beat the "bang for buck" value here. more

A classic! 8/30/2009

Cattleman's is the best steakhouse around! I'm not a big steak eater, but this is the place to go. Their filets are so tender and perfect. The salad (and it's very popular dressing) are excellent! more

You can not find a better steak anywhere in Oklahoma, nor in the Southwest. Pros: Best Steak in Oklahoma more

MUST GO 8/19/2008

Cattleman's is an Oklahoma staple. So the outside isn't very exciting, just go inside take a deep breath and you will be hooked. These are the best steaks anywhere. The service is always friendly, polite and prompt. Take a drive over to Cattleman's. more

Best Steak!! 7/12/2008

The ribeye was excellent. Very tasty and prepared perfectly. Salad was, well, salad is salad isn't it! The potato was good as well altough a bit on the small side. Everything was going great until I ordered the lemon meringue pie. This is the type of lemon meringue pie that gave it a bad name many years ago. The custard is almost green and the consistency is almost jello like - avoid. I would have tried their famous cocoanut creme, but I don't care for cocoanut. Don't the let pie dilemma stop you, I recommend to steak lovers everywhere! No wait when I arrived at 5 pm. The decor is vintage old time restaurant which should not be changed. The place has character! I am from California. I didn't even let the fact that the President had eaten here deter me! Interesting that this program identifies the President's name as an inappropriate word! Perfect! Pros: STEAK! YUM! Old time decor Cons: Lemon Meringue Pie (or rather the anti-lemon meringue pie) more

STEAK! 2/27/2008

The steak was great. I had the T-Bone and it was cooked almost to perfection. There was one little part that was not quit cooked as medium as I would have liked. It's hardly something to complain about. The steak was great, but the sides left something to be desired. It was served with at baked potato and a salad as it says all meal are served with. You can get other types of potato instead of the baked (i.e.fries or whatever). The salad was... blah and I had the house dressing which our waiteress said was like a ranch. I'm here to tell you it was like ranch but it wasn't nearly as good as ranch. I thought the house dressing was bad. The potato was small and looked like it had been over cooked, cooked in the microwave, or just sat in the warming drawer to long. The service was average at best. I loved the ambience of the place including the way they had the wait staff dressed. It felt like it had been there for quit some time, which it has. \r \r If you want a great steak this is a place you need to go. Pros: steak and ambience more

Incredibly Great Steak For An Incredibly Great Price 11/7/2007

I was passing through OKC and chose to dine at Cattlemen's for my one and only meal. I ordered the T-Bone and it was prepared perfectly, medium rare, and the quality was amazing for the price. You are getting essentially prime grade beef served at choice prices here. The geat, low key but professional service also adds to the great experience. One could dine in either dirty jeans or a tuxedo and feel comfortable in this very relaxed and treasured institution. I also tried the lamb fries as they were touted by the waiter as one of their specialities and still don't know exactly what I ate (I have an idea), but they were addictively delicious! I still think about them to this day and wonder where I can once again find lamb fries without having to go back to OKC. Pound for pound the best steakouse I have ever encountered anywhere. Pros: Great meat at great prices; lamb fries! more

The most amazing steak on the planet 7/5/2007

Cattlemens's is a place that words truly can't do justice to. The steaks are truly amazing and the sides are always great as well! The dressing is unique in flavor too and I'm by no means a salad person. I've been all over the country and I love steak so I get them all over and nobody stacks up. The service is amazing as well. I also HATE to wait in line to eat in a restaurant but it's well worth any amount of wait time to sink your teeth into one of those amazing culinary dreams! Come to my state and city and taste why people around here rave about this place. Pros: Everything. The place is amazing! It's in the stockyards so no formal attire please! Even the president dressed casual to eat here! Cons: Nothing at all! more

NOT JUST GREAT STEAKS!!! 6/26/2006

Don't get me wrong, I love Cattleman's steaks. They're great!! However, there is another reason I go to Cattleman's. Lambfries. Even if this dish makes you squirm I recommend it. You won't regret it! If you don't know what they are, don't ask, just order them. Tastes like chicken...SORTA-KINDA!!! more

Great Place for Out of this World Steak! 9/10/2005

I usually always get the T-Bone or the Sirloin medium rare. Both of these are my ulitmate favorites! The baked potato has never been dry or underdone but cooked to perfection, the bread is hot, and they have many selections of veggies to choose from if you prefer something other than baked potato. Their service, and food have always exceeded my expectations. My first visit to Cattleman's was in 1986, during my prom. I have been going ever since especially on special occasions. If you want a true Old Fashion, down home cooked steak that will melt in your mouth Cattleman's is the place to try. Pros: STEAK, Service, STEAK Cons: crowded, wait time more

70th Birthday 7/14/2005

Cattlemen's has always been my mother's favorite, but for her 70th they just seem to surpass their own outstanding service and exceeded all our expectations. She was elated! Thay food was , as always, superb! The staff pampering and attentive, but NEVER stuffy or smothering. They recommended a florist, kept the flowers (Capital Florist) ready and waiting, and allowed a Chocolate Ganache cake to be sent from Brown's Bakery. So accomodating! She exited with the staff singing Happy Birthday and is still on cloud nine. Thank you Cattleman's! Pros: Everything! Cons: Nothing! more

GREAT STEAKS 6/6/2005

I have lived in New York State most of my life and had lots of steaks to which were okay. THEN I moved to Oklahoma and had the opportunity to have steak at the Cattlemans Steakhouse. OH LA LA,,,their steaks are out of this world. I had the filet mignon(medium), and their salad with the most WONDERFUL salad dressing (cowboy dressing) and baked potato. The meat was so tender it melted in your mouth. The cowboy dressing on the salad made your mouth water for more. I have recommended this restaurant to several of my friends and family. PLEASE try this CATTLEMEN'S restaurant when you are in Oklahoma City. Please come and enjoy yourself. REMEMBER, I am NOT a midwesterner selling you a pitch. I am from south of Buffalo, New York selling you a pitch. I am very well pleased. PLEASE TRY IT. YOU""LL LIKE IT. more
