Place to get birthday cakes 12/30/2005

Okay, so everyone seems to get their birthday cakes here. All I can say is that I have never had any problems with their cakes. Always tastes fresh and has a lighter touch in terms of the sweetness than with western bakeries. Try the mango cake, but any old cake is good. I'm sure there are plenty of places to go for good birthday cakes (i.e. the corner Regent Cafe on Garfield and Valley), but you can't go wrong with Cathy's. more

Dependable quality bakery 10/10/2005

This is a high quality Asian bakery, with all the usual American fare too! If you are looking to try some new flavors I would suggest Taro cakes for their starchy texture, mango cakes for those of you who are fans, and also the smaller baked breads filled with many different unexpected ingredients! I would suggest ordering ahead of time during the holidays to ensure that you are able to get the cake that you want, as it does get busy. more

wow when i picked up a cake for my cousin's birthday i was in shock and awe.. The gelatin covered fruit cake was awesome ! I also picked up a strawberry cake and that was freaking great too ! wow... can't believe i was missing out on some of the best cakes i've had... more

LOVE THIS PLACE!!! 9/17/2005

This place is so close to home that I could just walk over and get some breakfast. I love the wide range of bread that htey sell, from salad bread to almond cheese bread. It also carries very nice cakes for desert or birthday. It's a place to stop buy if you want some nice desert after dinner or some tasty breakfast for the mornings. more

Cathy's Bakery 8/27/2005

This bakery sells a lot of different breads, custards, and cakes. The cakes are moderately sweet, moist and are usually fresh. The workers here are pretty friendly and a cake costs around $20. They also sell tiramisu cakes around $25, which is not bad at all. more
