Founded in 1943, Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston is one of the largest private, nonprofit social service agencies. The agency provides social and human service needs of the Houston and Galveston communities. It provides various services and programs to promote the health and well-being of individuals and families. Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston offers individual and family counseling services that are provided to children, adolescents, adults and families. The organization supports substance abuse programs that include nonmedical substance abuse treatment and educational services. The organization also provides volunteer and support services that are offered to develop and coordinate activities for volunteers. It provides emergency assistance, as well as offers health care and case management services.
