I sumiited for emergency assitance through my vet rep for Catholic Charities. I was homleless, livng in a car, hotels and shelters. I finnaly had a job in security. I was laid off. My transportaion ( bus) was not suitable. I was interviewed by phone on friday November 20th by John Patterson at Catholic Charities, He gave me an appointment time to be there on Monday November 23 with the documents he told me to bring such as ssn card, picture ID,paystub from the last job and the form he was faxing to the front desk for the hotel to fill out. Some strees's went off of me. I didn't have to worry about trying to find a job and worry abouth the roof over my head at the same time. I went back to focusing on putting in applications online and making calls to see if anyone near me is hiring now. This is a constant ritual I have been doing like a job monday - friday. I was happy and feeling like evverything was falling in to olace the next thing was my new job. On monday I went to Catholic Charities downtown at my 11am appointment with Ms McIntosh. SHe was nice and told me what I was needeing to do to complete this. I finally make back to my home (hotel) afetr making a few stops tired but energized. On tuesday November 23 hotel manager knocked on my door askingme what was going on. I told her about the faxed document. She told me she never recieved anything from Catholic Charities and to call them and have them send her the form. I called twice , no one answered so , I left a message for John Patterson about the form he told me he faxed friday. By the time I hung up the phone, the manager of the hotel was calling my room to tell me, her words"" He said he didn't fax the documentson friday because you didn't qualify for help. I made her repeat it. Now my head was whirling. Why would this guy who is supposed to be apart of an organization that help0s people take me through all of this and wastes my time when I could have been searching with other programs. Instead you are trying to be sure I get put out on the street and end up street homless again. I am not sure of who this man is exactly in the office( John Patterson). I do reacall a short dark pugy man in a hawiian shirt starring at me oddly in the office. He didn't say anything he just kept starring at me. What happened to respect and integrity.
