CLOSED! The Catfish House in Smyrna is no longer in business. The building is gone, the business is gone, even the pile of bones where they cleaned all those catfish is gone. In its place, Panera Bread. When we asked a local where the place was, he told us developers offered the owner $4M+ for his property so he took the money, closed the place and went fishing. more

Logans Roadhouse should Hit the Road! 12/9/2011

My partner and I went to this Logan's and this time along with the previous time were extremely disappointing. Server was spread too thin. The server brought no dinner rolls. When my entree was brought out approximately 30 minutes later, my entry of a sirloin steak and shrimp was unappetizing. The shrimp were over cooked and small. The steak was a 6 oz and it is was well a 6oz, I guess? I wish I took a picture of it. Approached the manager and responded in a threatening manner and very aggressive. The time before that we went to a Logan's restaurant in Murfreesboro, and the food was equally as unappetizing althought the management did make it better. I will never eat at a Logans again. Long Horn Steakhouse in Murfreesboro is far superior, and better bang for your money. Friendly and attentative staff! more

Dinning alone with a young child? 6/15/2009

Best secret outside Nashville! 1/18/2009

If you liked Uncle Bud's, you'll love Catfish House. It was very easy to find, and it is the cutest little house. They serve white beans, coleslaw, hushpuppies, and fixin's with all entrees. The white beans were a bit bland, but nothing that a little salt and pepper didn't fix. The coleslaw and hushpuppies were delicious! We both got the all-you-can-eat catfish and what more can you ask for? The fish was freshly cooked and made to order each time we got more. Even more importantly, the service was great. We had our 8 month old son with us, and had lots for requests. Our server Scott went over and beyond his job. He was so curtious and willing to assist us with anything. He even entertained our son who LOVED HIM!!! What a great experience. We will definatley be back with our entire family soon! The overall all experience was a 10! Great homestyle food with 5 star service. Superb! Pros: reasonably priced, easy to find, great food, superb service Cons: can't really think of any more

We will definitely go back! 6/17/2008

I got the all you can eat cat fish filet dinner and hubby got catfish filet sandwich. Catfish was great. Fried okra - not one of my favorites - was very good! I'm not much for cole slaw or white beans either but these were both delicious! The hush puppies were as good as I have ever had. Our waitress was very friendly and took good care of us - as did all the servers we saw. It was our first visit but we will be back.\r OK - the key lime was not my favorite - it was VERY sweet - but hubby ate his and mine!\r Pros: Good food! Good service! Good music! more

Great Service 3/16/2008

I have been a regular customer of the Catfish House in Springfield, but ever since I moved into Murfressboro area I have been going to the one in Smyrna. I have to tell you the service in Springfield, is great but the service here is very good too. It's so hard to choose which one is better. I am really happy though that one of the regular waitresses that I had in Springfield has moved up here to Smyrna. (I think she goes to MTSU.) But i just cant get over what great service both places have. P.S. the food is great too! Pros: Everything is OUTSTANDING!! more

Delicious food! 1/12/2008

Everything my family and I have ever eaten here has been delicious. The catfish is quick-fried so it's crispy outside and not greasy. On the weekends, they have homemade chocolate pies and homemade coconut pies. Heavenly! \r \r Go early in the evening--it gets crowded after 6:00 on weekends. The service is friendly and efficient. The ambience is comfortable (nothing fancy) but very clean and attractive--what you would expect of a local, family-owned restaurant. This is one of my favorite restaurants: great food, reasonable prices, casual atmosphere. Pros: Delicious food; not just catish (great steaks too); easy accessibility & parking Cons: None that I can think of more

food good but atmosphere could be nicer 2/27/2007

Restaurant is always busy on weekends especially on sundays. Other times seems to be closed often. Not the best atmosphere but food is good. Pros: good food Cons: atmosphere busy on weekends more

Really really good seafood! 7/21/2006

My family has eaten at the Catfish House so many, many times and never have we received anything that wasn't delicious.\r Come early and it is always crowded--which is a testiment to how popular it is because it is so good. Pros: Excellent for family gatherings, delicious food Cons: Loud, and crowded, COME EARLY as you may have to wait a very long time more
