You've got to try it! 3/8/2012

As I understand it, Catahoula's is under new ownership and the chef is no longer Jude Tauzin but Rachel Leckelt. I've eaten there three times since she took over and have enjoyed my experiences there immensely. If you haven't been to Catahoula's in a while, you really need to try it again. It may look the same, but the service and food quality have improved dramatically! more

Grand Coteau is the way to go. 10/2/2008

First of all I'd just like to point out in regards to the last post that the owner of the pinhook location who is doing this is not affiliated at all with the location in Grand Coteau and neither is the restaurant. Despite what the Pinhook location would have you believe, the two restaurants are not one and the same. The only thing in common is the name. Aside from that I very much agree that the restaurant on Pinhook is forgettable. However the original location in Grand Coteau is without a doubt the best restaurant from the Arkansas border to New Orleans with a few possible exceptions in Baton Rouge. The food by Chef Tauzin and team is absolutely out of this world, with everything from Chilean Sea Bass to Prociutto Wrapped Lamb Tenderloin! The Wine Spectator award winning wine list is by far the best around and the servers are impeccable. There is no better place to be for dinner for a food and wine lover. Pros: Ambiance, Food, Wine List, Service Cons: A little loud when its full more

Operations cheater! 9/30/2008

I've eaten at the Pinhook location a couple of times and was never blown away. The word is that one of the owners (Jon Slaughter) is actually going out to other restaurants and working as a regular crew worker to steal their ideas and operations. I think this is totally wrong and business owners should watch out for this guy! more

worth the drive 9/19/2005

Call ahead of time, because their hours are difficult to remember even for the service people. A truly outstanding restaurant. The food is prepared perfectly and the presentation is perfect. Considering the amount of work that goes into the plate set up, you would expect the amount of food to be lacking. It isn't. Great wine selection, also. Save room for a dessert. It is a little loud when the crowd arrives, but not disturbingly so. Incredible restaurant. A must. more
