The glowing reviews for CHAT are from 2005 & DON'T reflect the reality of how they operates today. 1) Dr. Brunt only comes in to the clinic 2-3 days a MONTH. 2) CHAT does NOT offer 24 hour emergency services! Outside normal hours, they send you to the PetER several miles away, & they don't have 24 hour staffing; cats boarded there, or kept for medical treatment are unattended from the time the staff goes home until they return in the morning; Sundays, they're unattended for the majority of the day - I got staff to admit this when I considered boarding my cat. 3) While the outside of the clinic & decor of the waiting room are "charming", the exam rooms, equipment, and hospital upstairs are outdated - I asked for a tour when considering boarding, & was shocked at how run-down the non-public areas are. Plus, carpeted floors may be "cosy", but they can't sanitized appropriately! Last but far from least, the services offered simply don't warrant prices so much higher than everywhere else. For example, I was quoted $1,650 to clean my cat's teeth and extract one tooth; I took him back to the vet I'd used before, who quoted less than $500 for the exact same work, *including* the bloodwork, IV fluids, anesthesia monitoring, etc. that CHAT claim are "special" and warrant their high prices. Ten minutes extra driving saved $1,100! The same is true of the rest of their services; aside from not allowing dogs on the premises, they don't offer anything that other area clinics can't do just as well, in more modern facilities, for 25 to 75% less than CHAT charges.
One last negative for CHAT :The parking lot in back is miniscule and difficult to access. As a side note, on one visit I was shocked to hear a female staff member literally screaming obscenities at some neighborhood kids who were "trespassing" through the parking lot, & then overheard other staff saying she did this regularly. That kind of temper will express itself in other ways - including at animals- plus the behavior indicates a lack of appropriate management.
