Very Best Care 8/22/2010

I have five cats that have been taken care of by all of the doctors at Case. The cats range in age from one year up to around 17 years of age. The doctors have taken care of all of the normal treatment and also some pretty scary stuff. One of our cats, who was diabetic but is no longer diabetic, had a urinary tract blockage. All of the doctors were very caring and concerned about this cat. I received numerous updates on his condition. I was on the phone one night with Dr. Case-McCorvey around 11:30 p.m. She called me after one of the procedures she performed on my cat. Her care and concern for my pets, not to mention the cutting edge technology and training available at Case, leaves no doubt in my mind that this is the best place for my pets. Case is pricey, but I used other vets before finding Case, and the confidence that I have in Case is worth the expense. I want my pets to have the best, and I know that at Case, they do. more

a poor choice 2/3/2010

While one doctor (Dr. Witherow) here seems to be very caring and competent, the rest, especially Dr. Knight, are the absolute worst you can find. This practice refers patients to specialists that have no business treating any animal that is even slightly cared about by the owner. When your pet has a serious condition due to lack of expertise of the doctor they refer you to you can expect to get a sales call from the doctors here at Case to make sure they have a chance to "cash-in" on your pet's misfortune and poor health. Although this practice is AAHA accredited you should take an extreme amount of caution when dealing with them, if you must. This is not a good choice for your pet and if you do choose them you will regret it. more

The Best Vet Hospital In Town 12/15/2009

I have been taking my pets to veterinarians in the United States and abroad for more than 40 years. Case Veterinary Hospital has the best veterinarians, the best staff, and the best facilities I have ever experienced. A clear indicator of the quality of their service is the fact that they have been in business for more than 100 years. Every aspect of their approach to veterinary care is first-rate. This also undoubtedly includes a minimal tolerance for poor staff support (an approach I also have had to personally employ). In the nine years I have been taking our family pets to Case Veterinary Hospital, I have been completely satisfied with the care, treatment, and courtesy I have received. So my advice to the reader is this: beware of the opinions of disgruntled former employees. Their reviews are likely to be biased. more

Less than ideal environment 1/16/2007

This is a very nice looking hospital and has been in business for about a hundred years. I didn't like the fact that dogs are not walked outside except in special cases. There is no fenced yard and dogs these dogs are walked by a busy street corner. Personally, I think housebroken dogs will hold it as long as they can before eliminating on the floor. That can't be good. The cat room is isolated and in the back. That sounds like a good idea, but in my experience cats need more attention or become skiddish. I watched but rarely saw anyone check on the cats. Employees are made to watch a two and a half hour orientation video listing dozens of rules that make one's head swim. They offer a "whopping" $6.00 and hour for kennel techs, when the state recommends about $9.00 and hour in this area and call it competitive salary. They offer no benefits to employees except a 30% discount for services, which were pretty expensive compared to other hospitals where I had worked in Atlanta. I also felt uncomfortable because of the constant meetings with the manager there who had listed all the reasons to be fired, including complaining to other employees about any problems they had with the hospital to other employees. They have a lobby with merchandise to sell, and the only reason employees were allowed to talk to clients was to try and sell them something. I have 3 small dogs which I love dearly, and usually pick a hospital to work at that I trust and feel comfortable with. The doctors seemed aloof and rarely spoke with employees. I might offer that I never actually saw anyone being cruel to animals, and the hospital was well equipped. The human element is what was lacking, and I think that is a management issue. I don't want under payed and over pressured employees handling my pets. I didn't have any conflict with the hospital, and am not a disgruntled employee out for revenge. Because of my personal beliefs, I work at veterinary clinics because I love animals, and don't tolerate any cruelty or shoddy care. When I think animals aren't being treated properly I have something to say about that. I would only use this hospital as a last resort. more
