If you like old movies and fabulous food, this is the place for you. Casablanca is patterned after the movie and has memorabilia all over the restaurant, including in the banos. M...

really wanted to like this place, but the food was simply just not good. The service was slow and the margaritas were flavored water w/ seemingly no alcohol! I must say that I d...

Mysterious Restaurant of Sin and Intrigue ! 9/2/2006

It is not justified to call this just a Mexican restaurant. They have a taste of Mexican food but the food is much more than your authentic Mexican food. The ambience is just plain weird. The owners and host are very nice people, and they have all this memorabilia from the movie Casablanca (Isnt that in North Africa?) they have a mariachi band that plays anything but what Mexican mariachis would play. But the food is good and it is worth trying out, I have been here more than a handful of times. Good date place. more

Great Food - Great Price 4/14/2006

I had a calimari steak topped with crab and shrimp. It was light and delicious. None of the rubbery texture calimari can sometimes have. My husband had the filet mignon with XX sauce and he loved it. Didn't find it overpowering as another diner did on another review. Service was prompt and friendly. Drinks were generous. Prices affordable. Ambience, lovely. I can't wait to go back as there were many tempting menu items. Pros: Food, Price, Ambience more

A secret getaway 2/9/2006

I used to live next door to this place and not once did I ever think it was a place to enter. That was until a friend took me here. I feel like I am out of L.A. when I dine here. Every time it is romantic, or great conversations with my friends over potent margaritas and delicious homemade tortillas. I have to say I am frightened of some of the entrees, so I always stick with the fish. Either Salmon or Red Snapper. I know my friends love the steak dishes. If unique and atmosphere is what you seek, then look no further. Pros: Margaritas, Ambiance, Music Cons: Dessert more

The best Mexican Tortillas 6/4/2005

I go there for the tortillas and their tequilas, you do not need anything else... So good! more

Good Food and Good Atmosphere 3/22/2005

The place is eclectic, fun, and romantic. The waiters are very friendly and they bring the drinks and food promptly. There is great value in the specials, especially the various Filet Mignon dinners that are featured. The seafood brochette is excellent. Of course the homemade tortillas are excellent. They have live music which adds excitement and gaiety to the experience of eating there. I would recommend this place without hesitation. Pros: Fun, Romantic, Eclectic more

Who are all these other people? 9/26/2003

I'll be honest, I've been here twice and the food has been marginal at the very very best. Good tortillas but if you go there stop after that. Or have several drinks and leave. The service is fine, but the food is not tasty at all, as was agreed by all six of us the last time I went. With so many other choices in southern california, why choose to eat at this place? Pros: parking, service Cons: food, food , food more

great place 4/19/2003

I have ate here several times. It has always been a great meal. Service can be hit or miss but always delivers. I always leave satisfied and happy. Pros: food, atmosphere, parking more

The best Margueritas on the West Side!! 10/27/2002

I cannot believe that Casablanca's is not on the top ten Marguerita's list for LA. It offers a fully stocked Tequileria with rare and hard to find Tequila's right next to the standard Jose Cuervo stuff. but with all these choices, why settle for the typical. I recommend El Charro for Marguerita's and Patron for shots. Pros: Free Parking, Fresh Tortilla's, Live Music more

melt in your mouth goodness 10/11/2002

Casablanca is a jewel....the best FRESH handmade tortillas ever...!! The restaurant offers exceptional service and food! All of the dishes are amazing, and the salmon dishes in particular are phenomenal. Their drinks are strong and good - must try their margaritas!! more

Still the Best ... As Time Goes By 5/13/2002

I love this place. The mish mash of memorabilia from the infamous film and Mexican cuisine is fabulous! There's an ever present woman stationed at a grill making homemade tortillas, which are then served to customers still warm. Not big fans of guacamole, instead this restaurant serves a sweet green salsa with chunks of avocado inside. Pros: movie memorabilia, tequila cart Cons: a little pricey more
