Best

The stuffed lobster was just amazing and the delicious oysters, all I can say is wow overall this restaurant is a 5 Star including management and staff.

Worst

The stone crab were excellent - on a par or nearly so with Joe's. The sides were not as good but all in all very worth the price. Also on select days they have speciials which can be great. more

Best Seafood 2/10/2010

My favorite seafood place! The food is absolutely fresh and delicious. It's true that spanish is the first language there but, as an English only speaker, I have no trouble getting my order in and getting good service. And the staff is very nice. Order the shrimp and I guarantee you've never had shrimp so fresh. Pros: Fresh Seafood, Food is awesome Cons: Not enough parking more

Mediocre at best and not Anglo friendly 2/7/2010

First, the restaurant is in a rather bad part of town on the river and I would not recommend going there at night. We went during the day and it was ok. Second, my family is latin, but everyone is very tall and very blonde and we were treated pretty badly until we switched to spanish, then it was ok. If you ask any questions to the waiters in english prepare to be ignored. I only got attention when I spoke spanish. I was hoping for great food as we were told it was very good here. It is pretty average, some of the shellfish is ok but overcooked. Everything else we had was terrible, especially the soups and salads. It was not that busy either so no excuse on the bad food. It is cheap, but so is the food. Pros: Cheap, casual Cons: Bad neighborhood, not so good food more

If you want to eat great fresh sea food, seek great ambiance with excellent service, this is the place for you. We did not know what to expect, as the reviews were mixed; however, once we sat down it was immediately apparent that this was not just another ordinary restaurant! We started off with coconut shrimp & oyster rockefeller, & fish soup followed by a grilled hog snapper. We finished off with tres leches for dessert. Everything was absolutely delicious. One mistake we made was ordering a bottle of the " house" Spanish white wine, which although of non exceptional quality, was grossly overpriced ($44). And, by the way, watch out for the blue bottle water, sitting on the table, which if you allow to be opened, will set you back $5. Otherwise, go for it. You won't be disappointed. Ask for a table by the river. more

This was a great find, located right off the pier and behind a fish market in Little Havana. I ordered the Dolphin fish with yellow rice and salad. The salad was nothing to write home about, but the freshness of the fish made up for it all. Not to mention the fish spread and crackers before the meal. We enjoyed sitting near the water and enjoying good conversation in a laid back environment. more

One is never enough - don't be shy to ask for more. At Garcia's, you'll not only find the usual snapper, grouper, and mahi-mahi but a couple of favorites like mangrove snapper and corvina. You can order anything that they've caught that day and have it prepared just about anyway you want it; blackened or breaded are the two most popular options. Many people swear by the Caesar salad with freshly caught grouper. The fish is an interesting addition to this tasty salad and sides include all the Cuban classics - tostones, maduros, etc.. more
