Fantastic movers --- call now. 6/15/2007

a few key words: on time; friendly; not one thing broken; very "stair friendly" --- I had several levels down to get out, and even more to get up ---- smiles the whole way --- and a REAL BARGAIN --- so much so, that I tipped them what I hope they consider to be a huge amount. I'm really glad my prior movers that I was going to use wasn't available --- they were fantastic. I would definately use them again. Pros: fantastic customer service --- service oriented more

Efficient yet personable movers 3/2/2007

I've only been living in the Bay Area for a short time, and thus, did not have nearly the arsenal of friends required for a move this February (especially from Berkeley to Pacif\ic Heights). Tommy and his crew were wonderful, from being upbeat and conversational at 8 AM, to being patient with the very slow elevator in my building, to offering to rearrange my furniture exactly how I wanted it once the stuff was in the apartment. They were quick, professional, and made the whole (usually horrible) moving ordeal actually quite pleasant. I could not have been happier and would highly recommend them to anyone. Pros: Good conversation, careful moving, timely service Cons: None more

best moving company ever! 1/16/2007

Can I say... this crew of hearty movers was excellent. I've been in the city for many years.. so that equates to more stuff that I think I actually have. Tommy and his crew of two additional men, Liam and PJ, arrived right on time with a truck and an excellent attitude! We loaded my 1bd apt. and unloaded within 2 hours! and that's with 2 flights of stairs at the new place. They charge a very fair price, aim to please, and are a pleasure to work with.. I would recommend them to my Grandmother! Oh and they DO take credit cards.. which Pat Ryan, Delancy Street, and a few others don't.. This really helped me out.. as I didn't have the cash to make this happen.. Excellent! more

Magician Movers 9/9/2006

Carty's moving was incredible... I was moving out of the third story of a no elevator marina building into another 3 story no elevator marina building with a ton of heavy, large, and solid estate furniture and Tommy of Carty's did it with ease! Tommy showed up with one assistant who was not of large stature and I became nervous, considering I knew what they were in for. But miraculously, they defied gravity and moved everything in and helped with furniture placement. Honestly they are incredible and I can't wait for my move to be just as easy next time around!!!! Pros: Pricing is great Cons: None! more

These guys are the best 3/20/2006

Hard to say enough good about Carty's. The arrived exactly as promised, got the job done at the low end of their estimated time and got some really big pieces through some really small doors without damage. Price-wise, not the cheapest but not the most expensive, either - I thought they were very fair. Also - these are genuinely good, smart guys. They were friendly and chatted and joked as they worked. Best moment? I showed the guys where I wanted the bed and one of the movers says "you sure? that's very bad fung shui." I checked - he was right. Pros: Quality , Honesty, Reliability more

Tommy and his "crew" are great value 2/8/2006

Tommy and his assistant were great. Arrived a little late but did call promptly to tell me he was delayed. Worked very hard from the moment they arrived and completed the work much faster than another company had estimated. Tommy was honest with his time calculation and charged me less than what I expected. I will definitely hire Carthy movers again for my next move. Pros: value, service, honesty more
